[edit]

Part of the sentence Liechtenstein currently does not recognize same-sex marriage, civil unions, or registered partnerships, one of few countries in Northern/Western and Central Europe not to do so. Actually Liechtenstein is surrounded by counties who do recognize some sort of same sex partnership.

has been deleted several times without explanation given. Rather irritating that this discussion page is not used. Ruud64 (talk) 20:09, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

First part that sentence is illegible. Terms 'nothern' or 'western' are unnecessary. Ron 1987 01:49, 23 January 2010 (UTC)

I noticed that the part Actually Liechtenstein is surrounded by counties who do recognize some sort of same sex partnership is now still.
I disagree with the terms 'nothern' or 'western' being unnecessary and that this part still has been deleted. The factual situation is that Liechtenstein is one of the few exceptions in Northern / Western Europe - this point does not come across after your edit.
Thanks for using the discussion page.
Looking forward to your answer here

Saw your reference to Liechtenstein being only a western country and followed the reference to the definition Western Europe as defined by the National Geographic Society. As per this graph , Liechtenstein, Ireland, and Italy are the few remaining western european countries that have nothing in place. Something worthwhile to mention, I think. And using this definition agree to drop the word Northern.

Previous version is better. Ron 1987 18:05, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
After the deletions by Ron 1987 it is not at all clear that the current situation in Liechtenstein is çonsidering its location an exception. The statement by Ron 1987 that his version is better is a subjective one that I do not share.

October

[edit]

Well as October is nearly over, maybe the article should be edited because clearly Parliament won't vote on a bill in october now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.15.142.73 (talk) 15:11, 31 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Support, since the legalization of same-sex marriage in Liechtenstein has officially completed all legislative stages and is set to take effect soon. Guycn2 (talk) 23:45, 22 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The bill still needs to be signed by the Prince, and I have no idea if it might be challenged in a referendum, so maybe not yet. Panda2024 (talk) 07:17, 23 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It is not looking like that's going to happen, I have seen pretty much no significant opposition as far as I know. TheBritinator (talk) 17:09, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Support: Recognition seems like an inevitability, so it sounds right to change the title. We could wait until it actually goes into law, though. TheBritinator (talk) 17:10, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
