unrelated fragment removed from article
[edit]The following seems to be a fragment from a web site with links to additional information. The fragment is unrelated to this article without more information or the link. Perhaps the link to the site mentioned could be provided and used for the information to be retained. I have deleted the fragment until there is more to make it fit into the article.
These parish pages list the names of the senior constables and parish deputies. Clicking on the names of the deputies will provide information about the committees on which they serve and will give access to a summary of the manifesto each published prior to being elected.

- I've removed the whole section. It's a copyvio of [1] and it does not relate specificly to St Martin's - it's more about the government of the island in general. Tra (Talk) 13:58, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
Thanks, we must have been in an edit conflict and I have now deleted the fragment following your notation.

detachment is confusing
[edit]Is a detachment a another island or a peninsula?

- Neither. If you look at the map, you'll see a small area of land marked in red to the northwest of the parish itself (also marked in red). It's still part of the parish but it's not contiguous with the rest of the parish. That's the detachment. Another term used for this is exclave, this article might give a better explanation of what the word means. Tra (Talk) 14:38, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
I'll put it into the article -- thanks.
