Introduction
[edit]- Sadia received her MSc in Political Science and Economics (Gender, Culture and Society) from Birkbeck, University of London in 1994, MA in Design Studies from Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts in 2001, and PhD in Fine Art from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in 2019.[1] She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.[2]
- Her fine art practice is primarily focused on how and why viewers experience epiphanic and transcendent states in the encompassing installation environment [[3]][[4]] and frequently incorporates the distortion or manipulation of time [[5]].

Music
[edit]- From 1998 to 2007 the Sydney Dance Company under the direction of Graeme Murphy held two works choreographed by Wakako Asano [6] as part of their permanent repertoire, Unwitting Sight (1998) and Cradle Song (2001) [7] with music by Sadia Sadia (Equa). [8]
- In 1996 she produced the single ‘Respect’ and ‘Respect Yourself’ (Polygram)[9] for the Trades Union Congress (TUC) Unite Against Racism [10] festival which received a commendation from the House of Commons (UK) through the passage on an Early Day Motion (EDM) [11].

- In 2009 Sadia was awarded a Studio 18 artists' residency at Gertrude Contemporary, Melbourne.[12] During this time she produced her three channel work Metamorphoses in ‘A’ Minor[13] with the support of the British Council (Aus).[14] It most recently screened at Sarah Lawrence's Third Annual Dancefilm Festival at the Heimbold Visual Arts Center in 2018.[15]

- The work was permanently installed with an updated sixteen channel surround soundfield in Gallery Eight at QVMAG's Royal Park location as part of the 130th Anniversary celebrations which opened on July 31st 2021 [[16]].

Can we please add this to the 'Ghosts of Noise' para. 4 to bring it up to date
- "In 2019 'Ghosts of Noise' [17][18] was exhibited as a four-channel video and eight channel audio installation in The Model Citizen [19] at the RMIT Gallery, Melbourne, curated by Sean Redmond and Darrin Verhagen [20]."
