Untitled
[edit]I think we should move this to Saadu Abubakar or Saad Abubakar. Is "Sada" something he uses, or was this just a typo on the BBC site that is being propagated? I'll investigate.

- I've moved it to Sa’adu Abubakar; this seems to be what he uses. Picaroon 21:36, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
Date of birth
[edit]Though the BBC gives 1953 as his year of birth, the Daily Independent (Lagos) seems to know better: it gives his date of birth as August 24, 1956 (Sultan Abubakar’s Visit To Abeokuta, February 28, 2007).--Ankimai 10:49, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
- I think we should go with what the Independent says. In addition, this page says he is 53 years old; maybe the BBC just got confused. Picaroon 21:36, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
Succession
[edit]I would like to remove and/or change the following:
- becoming the heir of the title since the son and the grandson of his brother also died in the accident
because the succession to the office is not a European-style inheritance by the eldest son. The process of picking the new Sultan is/should be mentioned in the articles referenced. Besides, to even think that a man of Sultan Maccido's stature would have only one son is rather humorous, even if one did not know the specific facts.
