Shuttle decommissioning
[edit]Does anyone really think all shuttles & related facilities will be decomm'd after the 'final' shuttle flight as authorized by the government to make way for the new program? I would be very surprised if the DoD doesn't have plans to keep a shuttle in some state of readiness in case a manned launch is needed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 166.56.100.129 (talk) 22:11, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
- DoD has no use for a manned launch afaik. Hektor (talk) 14:30, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
Spacebat?
[edit]I know it's not exactly in keeping with the tone of the article but should there not be some mention of Spacebat? possibly in the media section? Splateagle (talk) 15:31, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
- It is already mentioned in the launch day summary: "The most interesting thing in the countdown was a fruit bat that was seen to be resting on the external tank." While amusing, it is not anything worthy of undue weight, as birds and bats are often been seen around shuttle launches. Ariel♥Gold 16:02, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
- I think its media attention merits a quick note, and added something. And the summary was incorrect, it was a free-tailed bat, not a fruit bat. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Aapold (talk • contribs) 04:02, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
File:ISS March 2009.jpg to appear as POTD soon
[edit]Hello! This is a note to let the editors of this article know that File:ISS March 2009.jpg will be appearing as picture of the day on November 20, 2010. You can view and edit the POTD blurb at Template:POTD/2010-11-20. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page so Wikipedia doesn't look bad. :) Thanks! howcheng {chat} 21:53, 19 November 2010 (UTC)
