Ally Kimote

[edit]

@Bs1jac: ESPNcricinfo is using a duplicate profile called "A Mpeka" for Ally Kimote; can you check this? It's somehow making the stats in the Ally Kimote profile confusing too মাশ্‌ফী※Mashfi (ETP) 11:16, 31 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks - Already reported and they said they will look. I think the stats are confusing because they are in the middle of switching the records across. Bs1jac (talk) 11:16, 31 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Understandable. Thanks a lot. মাশ্‌ফী※Mashfi (ETP) 11:25, 31 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Bs1jac: They're at it again for the 3rd match, this time with Sanjaykumar Thakor (Sanjay Bom now). I hope they'll realize the mistake by themselves this time around, but letting you know just in case. মাশ্‌ফী※Mashfi (ETP) 10:50, 4 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Lol, thanks. I'll give them a nudge... Bs1jac (talk) 10:51, 4 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Do we have anything making it clear they are the same person? I am sure previously the two names have been interchangeable but I suspect Cricinfo might push back on this. Bs1jac (talk) 11:02, 4 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If they manage to get the birth date of Sanjay Bom, that could be the determiner; but since ICC used Sanjaykumar Thakor before when Tanzania's announcement said Sanjay Bom, them being separate does seem unlikely মাশ্‌ফী※Mashfi (ETP) 11:43, 4 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ally Mpeka and Ally Kimote are the same people.
Also SanjayKumar Thakor and SanjayBom are the same people.
This is an issue of Tanzanian Naming convention is different to International Standards.
