- There is one disambig link and one suspicious link.
- Done - Fixed/Removed it. Tomica1111 (talk) 22:56, 4 August 2011 (UTC)
- Infobox
- There's really no need for references being used the infobox. I know for genres, a lot of IP and registered users vandalize it, so what I suggest you do is add a note saying that the source is in the "Background and composition" section. That's something I personally find useful. You don't necessarily have to do this, just a suggestion. But remove the reference for the label, as it is sourced throughout the article.
- I placed the references in the Background and composition section. I would like to put a note, but I'm not really familiar with that, can you do that for me, or give some instructions? Tomica1111 (talk) 23:27, 4 August 2011 (UTC)
- Done — Added note For future references, all you do is: <!-- CONTENT HERE --> ℥nding·start 23:31, 4 August 2011 (UTC)
- aaaaaa That kind of note. hahah :) I'm stupid today xD sorry ... Tomica1111 (talk) 23:34, 4 August 2011 (UTC)
- Lead
- "Russian Roulette" is a song by Barbadian recording artist Rihanna... → No real need to link Barbadian.
- The song premiered on radio stations on October 20, 2009 and was released as the album's lead single on October 30, 2009 in Europe and November 3, 2009 in the United States, through Def Jam Recordings. → A bit too messy, don't you think? One date should be listed in the lead, and that would be the first. That's what the release history is for.
- Its composition is set in common time, with a slow tempo of 80 beats per minute. → Is this really lead material? I don't think I've ever seen this is a lead before. Doesn't seem that important.
- The song has a strong chorus with a bridge, which is supported by power vocals. → Not sure if this too important for the lead either. I'd suggest maybe a bit or rewording of reworking, or just removing it all together. Maybe add some information about the genre of the song?
- ...many of them... → with many
- ...and choice of lyrics... → since she didn't write the song, what about "and the song's lyrics".
- The single was a... → The song received
- The accompanying music video was directed by Rihanna's long collaborator Anthony Mandler and premiered on November 13, 2009 on ABC's 20/20. → The song's accompanying music video, directed by Rihanna's long collaborator Anthony Mandler, premiered on November 13, 2009 via the ABC television show 20/20.
- The dark video features Rihanna in different edgy situations connected with her love interest. → I don't like how this is worded. What does it mean by "edgy"? I'm sure it can go in dept a bit more.
- Background and composition
- On October 14, 2009, Rihanna posted a background image with a black metal "R" along with a message saying "The Wait is Ova" on her official website. → I doubt that Rihanna posted the image herself.
- It was speculated that the message would be a name of a new single or album. → Speculation rose among fans that "The Wait Is Ova" would either be the name of a new single or the then-upcoming album.
- Two days later, a countdown timer was also added to the image and was marked to end on October 20, 2009. → Two days later, a countdown timer appeared alongside the image, and was scheduled to end on October 20, 2009.
- Can't more be added to the background bit of it? It seems a bit small. Is there any recording information that could be added? I'll continue the review once this is fixed up. Also, "The song fits the genres of..." should start with a new paragraph.
- I added some more information, for the both background and song. What do you think now? Tomica1111 (talk) 10:50, 5 August 2011 (UTC)
- Looks good, continuing... ℥nding·start 16:29, 5 August 2011 (UTC)
- You could also probably just note in there where the song was recorded and by whom. And wasn't it the last song recorded? That could be noted as well.
- If you can get that info in, you'll probably be able to separate background and composition. :)
- Can I split the sections? Tomica1111 (talk) 18:07, 5 August 2011 (UTC)
- "Russian Roulette" is a pop mid-tempo song, that contains prominent R&B ballad characteristics. → "Russian Roulette" is a mid-tempo pop song, that contains prominent R&B ballad characteristics.
- It was written and produced by American soul singer Ne-Yo, who had previously worked with Rihanna on "Hate That I Love You" and "Take a Bow", in a co-production with Chuck Harmony. → The song was written and produced by American R&B singer-songwriter Ne-Yo and American music producer Chuck Harmony. Ne-Yo had previously worked with Rihanna on "Hate That I Love You" (2008) and "Take a Bow" (2008).
- The chords follow this order: F♯m–D–Bm–C♯, and then for the chorus F♯m–D–E–Bm. → Kind of random add on at the end? Anyway to merge it in earlier, or reword?
- Critical reception
- Upon release, "Russian Roulette" received generally positive reviews from music critics regarding Rihanna's vocal performance and choice of lyrics → Upon its release, "Russian Roulette" received generally positive reviews from music critics.
- The rest looks pretty good to me. :)
- Chart performance
- Seems like this section is lacking something, but I'm not too sure. I don't really know what to suggest, but it needs to flow a bit better I think. Moving on for now....
- Music video
-
- Background
- Retitle to "Background and development".
- Is there any information available about when it was filmed, etc? This section seems a little short.
- When I was writing the section I couldn't find the location or date when the video was filmed. :/ I will try to find something but I don't guarantee. Tomica1111 (talk) 13:25, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
- Nothing found :/ ! Tomica1111 (talk) 10:40, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
- Synopsis
- Looks good.
- No reception on the video? I'm sure you could find some!
- Live performances
- After the release → Following the release
- ...went to... → I don't really like the choice of words here. Flew to, maybe? She didn't just randomly be there.
- first time , together → Remove space after "time".
- she performed the single again → the song again
- In 2010, Rihanna recorded on... → Recorded on? That doesn't make much sense. And when in 2010?
- Last Girl on Earth Tour → italicize
- I think that the tours, don't need to be italicized. Tomica1111 (talk) 00:43, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
- Oh right. Forgot about that. My mistake. ℥nding·start 00:52, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
