This article should be merged into Palestine–Russia relations. There is no way to neutrally and comprehensively cover this topic without providing all the context that's present at the parent article. Necessarily, Russia's relations with Fatah are inextricably linked to Russia's relations with Hamas. Better to cover these both at one article. VR talk 00:49, 4 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

No, it should not. Those are two different topics.
  1. When we as Wikipedia editors say "There is no way to neutrally and comprehensively cover this topic without providing all the context that's present at the parent article" we must provide sources that prove it. There are plenty of reliable sources that concentrate purely on the Russia–Hamas relations and not Palestine.
  2. One may see the article in Russian that such topic can easily be covered without any of the content from the parent article.
  3. Russia–Hamas relations happened even before establishment of the State of Palestine.
  4. We might not want to mix Hamas and the state of Palestine as half of the State of Palestine do not support Hamas, which was recognized as a terrorist organization by multiple countries and support Fatah which was NOT recognized as a terrorist organization. It might unintentionally show that the entire State of Palestine is related to terrorism which is not true. As experts say: "The actions of Hamas in Israel beg for comparison with what Russian troops did in Bucha, Irpen and other cities of Ukraine". In the context of Russia–Hamas relations sources clearly compare Russian recognition as the terrorist state to Hamas recognition as terrorist organization and they do not do it for the entire State of Palestine and Fatah.
So it's better not to mix both. With regards, Oleg Y. (talk) 13:44, 4 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
