Referencing Ratings
I would just like everyone's input on whether you think the ratings should continue to be referenced for each one. As you can see, there are a lot of references due to the large amounts of ratings. Like other language (Korean and Chinese) Wiki pages, they do not reference them. I originally followed that format, but however was told by some administrator that there was someone vandalizing pages with fake ratings and therefore required me to put references for each one, otherwise not list them at all. Unfortunately (or fortunately), this page (and many other Korean pages) have seem to be fallen out of administrators concerns (as some ratings are not referenced due to the lack of a citable source) and the issue of vandalizing ratings seems to have disappeared. Hence, I think it would help simplify and clean up the page by not referencing ratings. Aman329 (talk) 17:14, 14 October 2012 (UTC)
Subdividing The Article
Seeing how the article was just listed as being too long, I do agree that the article could be subdivided to make it smaller and clear. However, I would like to get a general consensus on whether that would be ideal. But seeing how there has been no input on the ratings referencing, if no one has an opinion, then I will go ahead as planned. Please let me know! Aman329 (talk) 17:00, 13 November 2012 (UTC)
- Agreed. I have added the relevant tag on your behalf. ♠♠ BanëJ ♠♠ (Talk) 15:46, 18 November 2012 (UTC)
- I would like to ask if there is a consistent source of information for the individual ratings from TNmS. Thanks. Wrcmy (talk) 03:40, 19 November 2012 (UTC)
- Currently, I am getting most of the TNmS ratings from Korean forums, with individuals purchasing the data from TNmS. Sometimes, the numbers are published in news articles in which I used to cite. Due to the need to purchase the data, not many people or groups do so, therefore I just have to count on these people who apparently do. I would take their word for it. Aman329 (talk) 20:15, 19 November 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for your info. If you refer to the Korean wiki page for 1 night 2 days they are consistently updating both TNmS and AGB individual ratings. Just wondering whether you are a native Korean speaker and if so it might be worthwhile to see if the person updating that has the info for RM as well. Thanks. Wrcmy (talk) 14:58, 5 December 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry for the late reply! I just noticed I don't have this page on my watchlist... I checked out some of these users, it seems like they are updating ratings for a few pages. But it looks like they only updates those few (1 Night 2 Days, Strong Heart, etc.), which makes me think those programs are the only ones they're interested in. Running Man isn't one of them... I shall speak to some of them and see if they can help us out. Thanks for letting me know Wrcmy. Aman329 (talk) 02:29, 17 December 2012 (UTC)

Source of ratings
Just notice that the ratings part has been updated, which I believe that is the same as the korean wiki page. I would like to ask if it is a trust-able source of information because I found that some of the ratings are different from the newspapers. Thanks. Wrcmy (talk) 16:39, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
- Yes, I took them from the Korean wiki page. That user who has updated them has been doing so for other pages like 1N2D (he is the same user you mentioned before), therefore I am taking his word for it. Whether the newspapers are right or his data is right, which apparently he purchases from the ratings companies, is probably debatable. Of course, I'm not willing to pay for the data to verify this so by all means, feel free to do so. ;) Aman329 (talk) 18:32, 13 February 2013 (UTC)

The PDs, etc
The cameramen, crew, PD Myeok and so on are often referenced in the episodes... and sometimes participate, such as ordering food, etc that effects the outcome of the games. Is that worth mentioning somewhere?

Garie v. Gary
Both are acceptable... Technically the wikipedia page points to Garie. But the hangeul reads "Gaeri"개리 not "Garie" 가리에 which makes it confusing. But I've seen Running Man romanize it as "Gary". Could someone please clarify...? I'm going with the Running Man version for now...--Hitsuji Kinno (talk) 01:25, 9 June 2013 (UTC)
- I honestly prefer to use "Gary" as well, and have fought to use that everywhere. However, according to Wiki policy, links should be directed to the page name. Therefore, many parts of the page were changed to Garie by a user. Because he is right, it only felt right to change everything from Gary to Garie, instead of having a bit of both on the pages. But please let me know where you saw it romanized as "Gary" on the show. I don't recall seeing that before. I would also like to know where "Garie" came from and if there's a source to his name. Thanks. Aman329 (talk) 17:57, 9 June 2013 (UTC)
- Both Garie and Gary can be pronounced as /geri/ or /gӕri/. But I think that Gary is the popular usage. He use Gary at his twitter. I opened a talk at Talk:Garie#Requested move. Sawol (talk) 00:50, 10 June 2013 (UTC)
Kwang Soo "bad Luck"
In the recent episodes there have been a lot of references to "bad Luck" Kwangsoo and "Bad Luck Kirin" However, I'm not quite sure if this is worth mentioning. It started with the egg episode, though before that there was the name tag thing... (Got stuck on his hair). And Yoo Jae Seok saying he's blessed by the variety gods a few times. (Also KJK saying he wished that he had Kwang Soo's talent) Is it worth it to mention the nickname, and if so, is it worth it to detail it?--Hitsuji Kinno (talk) 14:47, 20 July 2013 (UTC)
- I'd say we'd have to see if it appears in more episodes. Many times a nickname is only used in one or two episodes and just disappears after that. The more prominent nicknames like "Giraffe" and "Icon of Betrayal" are seen in many episodes after they first appear, hence why they are listed. So if we see "Icon of Bad Luck" appear more often, it should definitely be listed. If anything, I would replace "Prince of Asia" with it as that mainly appeared during the Asia Race episodes only. I think the "format" section as is does not make much sense. It's basically the details of the various missions, and for those we already have the separate articles. What's the point of that section? Teemeah 편지 (letter) 16:03, 27 January 2014 (UTC)

Running Man Award
Should we include all the awards that RM won. Like the 10th Soompi annual award that RM and Monday Couple won, and many other as well?

- No. Soompi, Allkpop and other website awards are not real awards with independent coverage. These are just website polls. The WikiProject Korea members have already come to an agreement that these awards are not significant enough to be included in an encyclopedia. It's not like winning a Paeksang Arts Awards... FD Dong-wan
Go Dong-wan got promoted, but occasionally still works on the show according to: https://www.reddit.com/r/koreanvariety/comments/2s50v1/what_happened_to_running_mans_go_dong_wan/. He now works on MissKorea Season 2 as a PD where they occasionally still show him with the Roadrunner sound, which I would think is notable since it's become his signature (coming from Running Man days when he ran off in his first appearances). He still makes guest appearances, though. Can we verify this and find a reliable source to back it up? MissKorea Season 2 --KimYunmi (talk) 14:33, 17 May 2016 (UTC)

Discussion for the Guest List for Ep 469
I'm not sure if there is an error or not. I had been realising that there are edits by @EddyCodoZKazamaMrTabohZAMG: on the guest list stating that Bae Suzy, Jang Do-yeon, Lee Seung-gi and Shin Sung-rok did appeared on the Ep 469. I had been reverting the multiple edits, but the user had been reverting my edits still. (Refer to: [1], [2] and [3] as example of the edits) So I was advice to start a discussion on the talk page to see which edit is the correct one. Please advice @Jasonb28:, @PoWaiFung:, @Gayviewmahat: and @SBS3720L: or any user who did watch the episode. Because if this is the wrong information, we have to take action since there is a limit to how much edit we can revert per article (3 times within 24 hours on the same page unless the edits are "blatantly vandalized edits") Sophiajoanne (talk) 04:28, October 7, 2019 (UTC)
- No. The cast of vagabond did not starred in ep 469. I bet the user said they were filming on 2 September in Paris right? Debunked him on the Instagram page belonging to "runningman_bigrespect_9012" awhile ago. Furthermore, if they were on that episode, running man would had been sure to show them because of their popularity. Hence, it is safe to say that guy is a troll disrupting the edits. However, only the admin has the rights to ban him indefinitely by his IP address, which is visible since he did not log into his Wikipedia account to edit. SBS3720L (talk) 05:18, October 7, 2019 (UTC)
- Yea, the Vagabond cast definitely did not appear as guests nor made any special appearance in episode 469. I was thinking of applying for page protection but not sure if should wait longer as although the user has been repeatedly editing it, the admins may want to give the IP enough time to respond in this talk page (if he/she actually has any interest in doing so). – I think Running Man (South Korean TV series) (previously Running Man (TV series)) is the primary topic. It gets much more views than other entries (more than 160,000 pageviews in the last 30 days) (it was moved yesterday so the pageviews' statistics are still there.) By searching google:Running+Man, the first result is the Korean TV series. The entry with second most pageviews is Keep Running (TV series) with about 34k views. It is a spin-off of Running Man (South Korean TV series) and its title is Keep Running instead of Running Man. The entry with third most pageviews is The Running Man (1987 film) with 28k views but I think people will be searching "The Running Man" instead of "Running Man" for the film, or the novel it is based on. Sun8908 Talk 03:52, 26 April 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose - "The" is often not sufficient to alone distinguish between topics, so "Running Man" is too similar to "The Running Man". Best to continue disambiguating all. -- Netoholic @ 05:36, 26 April 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose per WP:SMALLDETAILS. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 07:00, 26 April 2021 (UTC)
- I proposed this move since I think Running Man (South Korean TV series) gets much more views than other entries, regardless of it being WP:SMALLDETAILS, would it be suitable to move per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC? More readers searching "Running Man" would be finding Running Man (South Korean TV series) rather than the entries named The Running Man, per pageviews' statistics, right? Sun8908 Talk 09:04, 26 April 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose per WP:SMALLDETAILS. In ictu oculi (talk) 17:27, 26 April 2021 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, there isn't always an easy correlation between pageviews and usage (see Wikipedia:Pageviews and primary topics). We do, however, have a direct source of data for usage – the clickstream dataset, which shows how many times each of the links on a page was followed. For the dab page Running Man, the link to The Running Man (1987 film) was followed 940 times last month, the link to the TV series – 851 times, and The Running Man (novel) – 270 times. – Uanfala (talk) 20:52, 26 April 2021 (UTC)
