[edit]Can anyone confirm that this song was based around the tale that the only casulty of the first German air raid on Britain in September 1939 was a rabbit?
- It seems likely that this is the case. The first German air raid didn't cause any human casualties. On November 13th 1939 the first German bomb on British soil landed on the island of Shetland, causing a crater but no human casualties. You can see a postcard image of the crater on Shetlopedia here, with a local farmer standing in a bomb crater, holding up the dead rabbit. There's another cartoon postcard image here which also seems to suggest that the first bomb killed only a rabbit. The main article does give a brief mention that this bombing inspired the song 'Run Rabbit Run', but not much information was given.
- It's very possible that after the bomb was dropped, a dead rabbit was found for the photograph and used to boost the moral of the British people. I will post up a message on Shetlopedia to see if they can provide any further information. It is an interesting story and would be good to know if it's true.
- There must be some official documents somewhere that would confirm this?

This song is familiar to Australians as it was used several years ago by Tourism Victoria for an immensely popular ad featuring adults playing hide-and-seek at a vinyard. --Lollerkeet 23:01, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
According to the documentary Churchill's Bodyguard, Walter Thompson relates Run Rabbit Run as one of Churchill's favourite songs when he became Prime Minister. --Lollerkeet 23:01, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

How & should I create a new page for another Run Rabbit Run (the flash game)?
[edit]I was into Donnie Darko (3 times this weekend) and felt that the rabbits population did not get enough from us human beens. In other words - I'm no going to change my sweet blog to develop and cover a whole new Rabbits-Humans kind of communication. Anyway, Im in Google and I see one 'rabbit' stuff that should be a value somewhere, and its the Run Rabbit Run flash game. To make a short story long...how do I create a new value for this game, and where.
(The game is at: RRR flash game)

John Updike and Rabbit, Run
[edit]I have little idea who influenced who, but Pink Floyd and Eminem could both be heard as responding to this story, or its place in education. Anyone know of comments by/about any of them re such influence? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.17.178.36 (talk) 04:17, 17 March 2010 (UTC)
Run Adolf Run (1940)
[edit]Was an animated cartoon about Adolf Hitler with a parody of the song 'Run, Rabbit Run'. The cartoon features Adolf firing the starting gun for the war, being shot at by shells in his tank and being chased by the then British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain who hits him on the head with an umbrella. Run Rabbit Run → Run, Rabbit, Run (song) – Apart from the actual name having commas in it, this article is about a now fairly insignificant song, whose page counts only surged around the time that Run Rabbit Run (film) was released. I suggest creating a DAB for Run Rabbit Run, with links to the song, album and film, and See also Rabbit Run (which is a DAB). Laterthanyouthink (talk) 06:20, 11 July 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose. Certainly not an insignificant song. An extremely well-known song. Clear WP:PRIMARYTOPIC by long-term significance. -- Necrothesp (talk) 10:30, 11 July 2023 (UTC)
- Yes, realised after googling that I was in fact familiar with it... (and the article could probably do with a bit of help). But - shouldn't it have commas, and what about creating a Run Rabbit Run (disambiguation) then? It would look tidier than the current arrangement with templates, and could have the novel and the DAB for Rabbit Run as see alsos on it. Laterthanyouthink (talk) 10:42, 11 July 2023 (UTC)

- Looking at WP:PRIMARY TOPIC, there are probably strong arguments for either to be the primary topic with this one, notwithstanding the long-term significance of the song, based on the huge number of page views for the film, and likelihood that this will continue for some time, with the popularity of Sarah Snook these days. The song is not a thing like an apple... What about Run, Rabbit, Run for the song, with a redirect from Run Rabbit Run (song), and also have a DAB which is either just the phrase, or with the disambiguation qualifier after it ? IMO this would be of most help to the casual reader, most of whom are looking for the film at the moment. Laterthanyouthink (talk) 03:04, 12 July 2023 (UTC)
- I would support moving the song to Run, Rabbit, Run, but still retaining Run Rabbit Run as a primary redirect to it. -- Necrothesp (talk) 12:51, 12 July 2023 (UTC)

- Move to Run, Rabbit, Run per above. Neutral on whether Run Rabbit Run becomes a primary redirect, or a dabpage. 162 etc. (talk) 16:28, 11 July 2023 (UTC)
