Prequel or sequel or midquel
[edit]How should we describe this in regard to 76's Shiny New Year or 64's Reindeer? The initial scenes predate Santa coming to the north pole as they tell the story of Boreal and Winterbolt, then it revisits Donner putting the black soot on Rudolph's nose, then it revisits Rudolph adventuring alone...
Is this basically after he leaves the island of misfit toys but before he returns home as a stag? The conflict there seems to be that Santa already wants him to be part of his team.
I haven't seen Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and the Island of Misfit Toys so maybe that fills in the gaps? The article says it happens after the 64 special yet Rudolph/Clarice are younger. Are they possibly de-aged by Santa's magic to keep Rudolph active and happy? Ranze (talk) 21:02, 21 December 2016 (UTC)
- These movies are not connected beyond the central figure so talk of them being so is not really relevant. Not trying to be a jerk, but they are all standalone shows. Ckruschke (talk) 19:34, 22 December 2016 (UTC)Ckruschke
Strange assertion
[edit]"This was the final Rankin/Bass special to use Rudolph and Frosty. All other specials/movies starring the characters were produced by another company."
Not sure what this means, but Rankin/Bass clearly produced the original 1964 Rudolph, the 1969 Frosty, and several other sequels. Before I remove this wholesale, can anyone explain what it was trying to say? Rehcsif (talk) 22:30, 21 December 2021 (UTC)
