Rubber band Gatling gun plans

general cleanup as well as removal of the 'how-to' feel of the homemade guns; made that sec purely discriptive. will add some appropriate links once I've looked at the sites. the gatling is from Surefire products and they sell designs for a tabletop version. ~ Carefull of the rubber band gatling gun plans. The plans, if they can be called that, are offered by a company called "Backyard Artillery". What they don't tell you though is what you see, is definitely not what you get. The plans are actually photocopied pages, that have been recopied from some sort of original drawings. They are of such poor quality, they're almost unreadable. And, they are not what's pictured on the BYA site. The picture featured on their site is only for the pre-fabbed model. The plans you recieve are for a scale model that looks like crap. They also falsely claim that if you're unsatisfied with the plans, they'll offer a refund, which they certainly do not. I was lucky enough to pay for mine with MasterCard. I filed a complaint, and only through the intervention of MC, was I able to have my money refunded. ~ Tercero, Feb 10, 2007 17:47.

Surefire link

When I originaly posted the surefire link I was unaware of wikipedia's policy on comercial links. I have reposted it for the same reasons I originaly posted it: I think it contains interesting information, it is -as far as I can tell- the home of the gatling, and the pages were of higher quality than the others I found in an immidiate trawl when I first went looking for info. I have no connections to the company beyond what I have stated. If anyone still feels that the link should be removed, I will raise no objections.Jmackaerospace 14:50, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

Rubber band nun parts

Why is there

the Knexecutioner in the links? it in not a rubber band hun. it is a knex gun powered by rubberbands. There is a difference. Instead, you should put http://www.instructables.com/id/EZGPEMCSWAEZTBAACZ/ which is a real knex rubber band machine gun.

True, it isn't a true RBG, but it IS a rubber band powered gun, and it IS excellent, so I'm not going to remove it. Crunchysaviour 17:25, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

Recent edits by a "Wikinewbie"

I've been researching, designing, and building rubber band guns for years. What I do not have experience at is adding to a Wikipedia article. I recently added some content to the Rubber Band Gun article, thinking that I would also add some pictures of specific examples of mechanism types. I left some notes in the article itself related to the images I'd like to see added. I did not realize however about the official permission-getting procedures that have to be followed, and I'm not quite sure how to procede with those. I'm kind of hoping that by writing this here in the discussion section, I might get some guidence from one of the previous (more experienced) editors on how to procede. In the mean time, I'll try to make some headway myself. I did already make an informal email request of a fellow rubber band gun builder in Japan to use images of several of his designs, however it sounds like what I really need to do is complete (or have him complete) whatever permission form it is that applies.
