Spelling of McFarlan name
[edit]The version that I edited had the name of the original builder as James McFarland. But the Hardin County ILGenWeb [1] reports that the name was McFarlan. It acknowledges that in some accounts, the name had a final 'd' or 'e', but seems to support the spelling "McFarlan". Because there are also several references to geographical or historical places in the area with the name and spelling McFarlan-- such as McFarlan's Ferry, or McFarlan's Precinct-- it seems reasonable to use this spelling. Frontier taverns
[edit]I also decided that the section on "Frontier taverns" did not really belong in this Rose Hotel article, so I deleted it. Jkgree (talk) 20:34, 21 July 2019 (UTC)
