[edit]This woman is a conspiracy theorist. She believes HAARP is designed (and has been used) to cause earthquakes and that chemtrails are real and dangerous. Often she is referred to as a radiation scientist, but her degree is in biometrics (statistics). She claims that chlorine did not exist in the environment until world war I. She blames El Nino on the military. 216.232.216.167 (talk) 18:22, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

These are all from Bertell herself.
Here's an interview where she describes HAARP:

Here's another article on HAARP:

Are these not robust evidence of conspiracy theory?
Neutral POV
[edit]I find the inclusion of this line in the lead to work against the objective of neutral point of view: "She was a noted conspriracy theorist regarding chemtrails earthquakes, 9/11, and other fringe topics"
Who has noted her as such, and can a more robust reference be found? Seems to me that Bertell has had more favorable press than adverse, and including this line in the lead section has the potential to prejudice a reader against her more widely known achievements.Danimations (talk) 14:26, 14 February 2015 (UTC)
- Just did a quick Google search; [1] has an insightful comment: "Bertell has a background in science and cancer research, but at some point she unhinged and drifted off into uncharted territories." with some details and links; right now I'm listening to her talking about how she thinks artificial earthquakes are caused by HAARP (note High_Frequency_Active_Auroral_Research_Program#Conspiracy_theories). The page I linked further remarks: "She is also a human rights and environmental activist and has done a lot of good in that respect, but her positive contributions are at present [in 2010] blurred with her crackpottery – at some point her environmental concerns turned into complete paranoia, conspiracy mongering and general crankiness." That seems to be true; now we just need a good WP:RS -- Limulus (talk) 16:53, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
- Found a book (Amazon: [2] Google: [3]) "Conspiracies and Secret Societies: The Complete Dossier" (2nd ed., 2012) in which she's mentioned (pages 154 and 494) in relation to HAARP conspiracy theories. -- Limulus (talk) 17:26, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
Fond
[edit]I have never seen this word used to describe what I assume is a cache of records and documents related to Sr. Bertell and her work. Might we find another word to place behind the first instance of 'fond,' in parenthesis, to better define this? 2605:A000:BFC0:21:C94D:52F:CA1F:5155 (talk) 18:07, 16 October 2024 (UTC)
