Lead
[edit]- It would help to clarify the fact that Henry is a professional association football player, particulary to help seeking clarification to what type it is
- "for National League South club Billericay Town." - for the
- "Henry was part of the Stevenage side that won the FA Trophy in the first ever competitive final at Wembley Stadium in May 2007; becoming the first ever player" - try to avoid using the same wording of "first ever" twice in the same sentence
- "although was appointed as an academy coach at the club two months later." - although is considered editoralising per MOS:EDITORIAL
Early career
[edit]- "and started two more matches during the loan spell." - not stated by the BBC Sport attached to it. The Soccerbase 2002/2003 source does though so that will have to be replaced accordingly.
- "He played twelve matches during his time there," - not confirmed by the FAI source; use another source in the article to verify this information
- "although was released by manager Roddy Collins due to financial problems at the club." - also the same citation does not mention Collins released him due to financial trouble; another source is required to verify this
Stevenage
[edit]- "Henry had started the campaign in an unfamiliar central midfield role, but reverted to full-back " - better and more neutral reverting to the role of a
- "However, in January of the same season," - better and more neutral In January of that season,
- "At the end of the season, Henry signed a new two-year contract with the Hertfordshire club." - unverified, requires a reliable source to cite it
- " At the Football Conference's Annual Presentation Dinner, he was named in the Conference Premier Team of the Year, alongside fellow Stevenage defenders Scott Laird and Mark Roberts." - The Non-League Paper source does not mention this information but the "Ronnie 469: A history of our record breaking captain" from Stevenage F.C. Does. I suggest citation bundling.
- "Henry made his 250th appearance in all competitions for Stevenage during the club's 0–0 draw at home to Torquay United," - the BBC Sport citation does not mention it was Henry's 250th match for Stevenage. However, the "Henry has been a marvellous servant to Boro – Westley" from The Comet does. I suggest citation bundling
- "He went on to make 40 appearances during the campaign," - the Soccerbase 2011/2012 reference should be used to verify this information in the prose
Luton Town
[edit]- "He played in 43 games during the 2012–13 campaign," - use the generalised Soccerway source in the article to verify it in the prose
- "Henry captained Luton to the Conference Premier title," - Henry is not mentioned by name by Luton on Sunday. Another source is needed
Return to Stevenage
[edit]- "his appearance in the club's 1–1 away draw with Morecambe" - there is no mention of the 1-1 away draw with Morecambe; another citation is required
- There is a similar issue about their game against Swindon Town being played at Broadhall Way
- "Henry was appointed Youth Development Phase Coach in Stevenage's academy " - of
- "at Stevenage spanning nearly 15 years." - lasting almost 15 years.
International career
[edit]- There is no mention in the BBC Sport source that the England C vs Finland C match took place in Helsinki
Style of play
[edit]- "where he has been used for the majority of his career.[15][14][10]" - all references should be in numerical order
- "Towards the end of his second spell at Stevenage, as well as upon signing for Billericay Town," - more concise and at Billericay Town,
- "as well as during his time at Luton and Billericay.[76][14]" - same issue as above
Personal life
[edit]- "He is the grandson of former Tottenham Hotspur defender Ron Henry,[13][10][80]" - same problem as mentioned in the previous two points
- and moved 'Personal life' section to 'Early life' per MOS. SBFCEdit (talk) 22:53, 14 July 2021 (UTC)
- The same sentence should end with a full stop and not a comma
- " and says that his grandfather has been a "huge inspiration" to him throughout his career." - better . Henry has said his grandather was greatly infulential to him throughout his career.
Career statistics
[edit]- The notes located at the bottom of the table require a reference as seen in mulitple GA articles.
- These are located in the references in the 'season' section of the career statistics table. SBFCEdit (talk) 22:53, 14 July 2021 (UTC)
References
[edit]- Reference 11 is dead but there is a replacement link [1]; the source will also need to include the author who wrote it
- Reference 23 is dead but can be archived via [2]
- References 74 and 81 require archiving because the link to the respective articles are dead
Overall most of the issues concern the fact that some of the information is incorrectly references, some of the sources are dead but can be archived, and some grammar issues in the prose. Will put on hold. MWright96 (talk) 12:44, 11 January 2020 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, since the nominator is primarly inactive and unable to correct the remaining issues, I have taken the decision to fail this nomination. The article itself has potential to attain GA status and can be re-nominated in the future. MWright96 (talk) 17:39, 24 January 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks once more for reviewing this. Have addressed all of the above so shall renominate. SBFCEdit (talk) 22:53, 14 July 2021 (UTC)

I'll re-review this one. Sportsfan77777 (talk) 06:33, 3 September 2021 (UTC)
Lead
[edit]- I don't think you need the citations in the lead.
- Mention the tiers of at least Stevenage and his current club.
Early life
[edit]- First mention in any paragraph should be "Henry", not "he"
- This section seems fairly short. Is there nothing else to add? It mentions a grandparent, what about parents? You could at least have the "Henry was born on ___ in ___" sentence to start off the paragraph.
- He only signed with Tottenham at age 16, who did he play for before that?
Early career
[edit]- Okay.
Stevenage
[edit]- Captain is linked twice.
- Should "transfer-list" be hyphenated?
- he was named in the Conference Premier Team of the Year ===>>> Henry was named in the Conference Premier Team of the Year
- he was not part of his future plans ===>>> he was not part of ("the club's" or "Smith's") future plans
Luton
[edit]- Okay.
Stevenage again
[edit]- meaning he surpassed ===>>> surpassing
Towns
[edit]- Clarify if he was playing for these teams while still a coach at Stevenage.
International
[edit]- Okay.
Style of play
[edit]- Okay.
Tables
[edit]- Okay.
Overall
[edit]- Outside of the lead, the prose should specify which tier (level on pyramid) each club/league is in.
In general, looks like MWright96 covered things pretty well and the article was in good shape even before that. Placing on hold. Sportsfan77777 (talk) 17:31, 3 September 2021 (UTC)
- SBFCEdit, no rush, just pinging you to let you know about the review because I don't think LegoBot did. Sportsfan77777 (talk) 00:21, 5 September 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Sportsfan77777, thanks for taking the time out to review the article. Also, I hadn't seen your GA review so cheers for notifying me. I have made all of the suggested changes. Great spot on the Henry joining Tottenham aged 16 comment. The infobox wrongly stated his youth career was 2000–2002. I have seen this article stating Henry was playing for Tottenham aged 10/11/12, but it doesn't state he joined them at the age of 10 (could have been before that), so I have left it blank for now. Couldn't find much more on his early life, just that his father drove him to training and that his family all supported Tottenham Hotspur. I've found it a bit tricky to incorporate the tier of each league in the prose. It's actually not something I've ever seen in a football article, but it is a good suggestion with the lower tier clubs in particular. I have gone for brackets in the prose for now. Let me know if there's anything else. Cheers! SBFCEdit (talk) 18:04, 5 September 2021 (UTC)
- Okay, not so surprised about the lack of early life info given that it's a lower-division player. For the tiers, you could also do something like "Stevenage of the Conference National, the fifth tier of the English football league system" or "Southern Premier Central seventh tier club", but this is a minor point. Passing, good work! Sportsfan77777 (talk) 01:40, 6 September 2021 (UTC)
