[edit]Was he jewish?
The biggest clue must be where he chose to have his son educated! Downside is a very well-known school in England, and its religious affiliation is pretty unambiguous... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Protozoon (talk • contribs) 21:45, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
Why is he still unknown in Derby ? Having oneself 'grown up' (!) in said place in the 60's-80's one cannot recall a single mention of his name or commemoration of his life anywhere there. Bizarre ! Anoraker (talk) 22:00, 31 October 2010 (UTC)
- I live in Derby (and worked at Derby Museums) had never heard of him until today, when his name was mentioned on local radio as a suggested addition to Blue Plaques in our area. As a result I've investigated and added some obituary and photo links to the page. I'll try and obtain copies and permission from the photographer to upload to Wikimedia commons Parkywiki (talk) 12:59, 27 November 2012 (UTC)
- Thankyou for your efforts. Have added our own 'two-penneth' to the DET article concerning these blue plaques ! Anoraker / Robert Taggart. 188.29.155.181 (talk) 18:19, 20 April 2013 (UTC)

How is his surname pronounced? Is it 'bing', as in doorbell; 'binge', as in he went on a drinking binge; or 'bing-ay', with an accent on the 'e'? Anyone know? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Emile Mercier (talk • contribs) 21:27, 28 July 2016 (UTC)
