The picture of the Roger Garrett I know is the person formerly known as Roger Glickman
[edit]You have conflated two different people. The picture is of my friend and high school classmate Roger Glickman drama student at performing arts high school in New York City. He went to Los Angeles where he took Roger Garrett as his stage name. The man you are describing as born in 1940 is a different person who was probably born in 1940 in los Angeles with those parents. I don't know what happened to Roger Glickman AKA Roger Garrett. I would like to know if it is my friend Roger Glickman/Garrett who died in the year 2000. Wonderma99 (talk) 22:05, 1 July 2023 (UTC)
- Hey, @Wonderma99! Thanks for coming in to help. Let's see what the mixup is. Valereee (talk) 11:12, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
- This article does not have a picture, and never has had. Maproom (talk) 11:17, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
- Absolutely right. Roger Glickman lived in Beechhurst, Queens, NY in the 1950's and early 60's. His father, Sydney Glickman, was French. (His mother was, I believe, Bernice.) And he played amateur tennis at the Clearview Club tennis courts in Beechhurst/Whitestone. Roger's tennis nickname was The Blaster. His doubles partner was The Buzzer. He was born in 1947. He created his stage name and initially appeared in The Grasshopper with Jaqueline Bisset. He also played a chair on an episode of bewitched. DeePeeCee47 (talk) 20:31, 23 June 2024 (UTC)
Roger Garrett/Glickman
[edit]i meant the picture on Google is Roger Glickman Wonderma99 (talk) 12:55, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Wonderma99, ah! We have no control over that...Google picks up the article from us, but if we don't have an image it goes looking elsewhere. It looks like they picked up the image from Pinterest or something. If we had an image, it would pick up the one from us. If you know where there's a correct image, you can give us a link to it, and if we can use it under our fair use policies, we will. Valereee (talk) 13:14, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
Rogers Garrett/Glickman
[edit]Okay. I'll try that. Wonderma99 (talk) 13:40, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Wonderma99, I just watched the episode of bewitched. If the photo at pinterest is the one you're talking about, it is indeed the actor Roger Garrett. So what you're saying is that the person in that photo was not born in 1940 and may not actually be dead? Valereee (talk) 14:00, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
- Okay, and this is weird...would you say the person in this photo is also your friend? Valereee (talk) 14:05, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
- yes Wonderma99 (talk) 14:13, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
- i don't know if he died. Wonderma99 (talk) 14:13, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
- I've emailed the professor at his academic address to ask him if he had an acting career in the 60s and 70s. Valereee (talk) 14:15, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
- I think you have conflated that person with my friend because Roger Glickman changed his name to Garrett as a stage name. I think they are 2 different people. Wonderma99 (talk) 14:18, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
- If the second photo is also your friend, he's now a professor emeritus at UC. Valereee (talk) 14:28, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
- Which is the 2nd photo? Where can I see it? Which UC? Wonderma99 (talk) 14:31, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
- nope that's not him. I watched an interview with that Garrett. Raised in Iowa. Not Glickman,/Garrett. Sorry đ Wonderma99 (talk) 14:38, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
- Well, that's going to be an interesting email for him to open lol... Valereee (talk) 16:39, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
- i could take a picture of our high school yearbook but I don't know if that works for you guys either. Also not sure if I can do it. Wonderma99 (talk) 17:48, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
- Unfortunately it doesn't. Wikipedia has very strict policies on copyright and fair use. We don't use other people's work without an extremely good reason. But you might contact your high school to see if they're still in touch with him or his family. It's not highly likely, especially for this vintage, but it's possible. Or you could contact your local newspaper, they might love to do a story on a local-boy-did-good who was reported by Wikipedia to have died when he hadn't, might track him down. :D Valereee (talk) 18:58, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
- okay. Thanks for trying. Wonderma99 (talk) 19:31, 2 July 2023 (UTC)

[edit]Yes that is the photo of my friend who was not born in 1940 in los Angeles. rather he was born in New York City either 1947 or 48ďżź Wonderma99 (talk) 14:12, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for taking the time to try to straighten this out, Wonderma! Valereee (talk) 14:16, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
- you're welcome. Although I haven't seen him in many years, he was a classmate at performing arts high School and I would know that face anywhere. And if it were me, I would want someone to notice.also, I want to know what happened to him. Good man. Wonderma99 (talk) 14:23, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
- If you ever find info, c'mon back and give us a link. We can't unfortunately use the photos online under fair use if he's still alive, which of course if he was born in 1947 or 1948, there's very good chance of. But at least now we aren't getting all of his personal info wrong. That information was added nearly seven years ago by an editor who hasn't edited since, and he shouldn't have been using birth/death/marriage indexes, that's against policy, partially for this very reason: it's easy to get two people with the same name mixed up. We're all volunteers here, so sometimes things slip through. Valereee (talk) 16:46, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
- okay. I have a link to a photo but I don't know how to send it. I'm not tech savvy đ Wonderma99 (talk) 17:45, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
- If you were born in 1947 or 1948, I'm impressed already with how tech-savvy you are. My dad can't figure out how to text his grandkids, which is the only way to reach them. :D Valereee (talk) 19:00, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
- LOL Wonderma99 (talk) 19:05, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
- thanks for the response although much later. as I said I would still love to know what happened to Roger Glickman / Garrett. Roger, if you are still alive and reading this, give us at Performing arts a shout out to your whereabouts. 108.46.216.171 (talk) 17:54, 24 June 2024 (UTC)
