Merge Kistler Aerospace

Wasn't Kistler Aerospace acquired by Rocketplane Limited, Inc.? If that's the case, then Kistler should probably be merged there. Honestly, Rocketplane Kistler could probably be merged there as well - until more details emerge as spacecraft development (hopefully) continues. I'm hesitant to bloat the Rocketplane Limited article too much, and there would be some redundancies - but it might work well if done properly. No, I agree with sdsds's proposal. Kistler Aerospace was bought by Rocketplane Limited, but was not assimilated. KA continues to operate as before, but under the name Rocketplane Kistler. So KA should be merged into RK. — Jack · talk · 05:32, Sunday, 2 September 2007

April 2009 Update

There is a Jeff Foust interview of Chuck Lauer of Rocketplane Global / Rocketplane Kistler that was filmed earlier this month at the Space Access '09 conference, here: [3]. At 5:00 minutes into the interview he gives an update on "Rocketplane Kistler, the orbital side" of the Rocketplane xyz business. "Rocketplane Global" is focusing on the suborbital part of the business, the 6-passenger rocketplane design that they solidified in 2007; RG is still working the financing to pursue building the spacecraft (covered earlier in the interview). August 2009 Update

Just updated the Retrenchment section of the article with an Oklahoma-centric news article that claims (again) that the company is financially broke. The article probably needs a revised lede now to better reflect this. N2e (talk) 02:49, 19 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

April 2010 status

This reference in NewSpace Journal on April 11th indicates Rocketplane Global (redlinked non-existent WP article as of 2010-04-13) may be making a Florida play, or at least, has made some public announcements to that effect. Of course it remains to be seen what will come of these words as Rocketplane had formerly gotten quite a few whipped up about their Oklahoma announcements. I think a couple of things are implicated for Wikipedia coverage of this company:

1) As of April 13, 2010^[update], Wikipedia has articles on Rocketplane Limited, Inc. (officially defunct) and Rocketplane Kistler (hard to tell if still a going concern or not) — but it has no article on Rocketplane Global, the only Rocketplane business entity that is doing anything of note in NewSpace recently

2) This is two April's in a row now where Lauer has been making announcements about the Rocketplane Global entity at the annual SpaceAccess conference. N2e (talk) 02:37, 15 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

June 2010 Bankruptcy

Rocketplane, which received $18 million in Oklahoma tax credits, filed for bankruptcy last month - OKG Scene.com, via SpaceToday from the Oklahoma Gazette. That's from Clark Lindsey at RLV and Space News, July 7, 2010.

It addresses the complete Chapter 7 (liquidation) bankruptcy of all three Rocketplane entities: the parent corporation, Rocketplane, and its' two subsidiaries Rocketplane Kistler, and Rocketplane Global. Thanks PP037! That needed to be done. I made a minor change to the citation syntax on one of your sources, in order to clean up an extraneous number in the References section on that source.
