I had a question about an identical song by an artist with an identical name, read Talk:Robin S. for the question. --SuperDude 06:23, 21 May 2005 (UTC)
You are right!
Yes, you are so right. It SHOULD be Robin Carlsson, redirected from Robyn of course.
- I agree. If there is no opposition within the next few days, I'll move the page if no one beats me to it. / Alarm 11:18, 26 July 2005 (UTC)
Her REAL name are Robyn Carlsson, that was changed from Robin +10 years ago - hope this helps :-)
Robyn Carlsson is her real name since +10 years ago when she changed the spelling from Robin into Robyn. Hope this helps :-)
- OK, then I won't move the page. Could you possibly provide a link to some official source or newspaper article where this is mentioned? / Alarm 13:37, 26 July 2005 (UTC)
- OK, an update here. I asked in the Swedish article, and Robin Miriam Carlsson is her name according to the Swedish Tax Agency at least last year, so this seems to be incorrect. -- Jugalator 17:04, July 27, 2005 (UTC)
- Hmm, if that's correct, that part should be in the article, in my opinion, but I think we'd need some source for this. Strangely enough, I couldn't find anything in Swedish news about it. On the contrary, a Swedish national TV channel referred to her as Robin Carlsson in an article dated 2005-06-30. Hmm... I may look a bit further later. Or ask in the swedish Wikipedia talk page for this. - Jugalator 05:23, July 27, 2005 (UTC)
- It was I who checked the public databases at the Swedish National Tax Agency in 2004 when I wrote the article about Robyn for Swedish Wikipedia to have her date of birth verified. Her full name is (or was in 2004) Robin Miriam Carlsson. For reasons of privacy, the databases are not available on the Internet though. Thuresson 12:35, 15 November 2005 (UTC)
- OK, I've moved the page now for a naming I think is a bit more correct, and fixed up the redirects. -- Jugalator 02:23, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
Controversial
It's about that sentence: "It is also the name of a rap song in the end of her self-titled album, which is considered to be a little controversial for this young pop singer." What is this comment about? I suggest to leave out the second part of the sentence or explain it. I really don't know, what age has to do with it... (felix)
Robyn was also not responsible for the 90's club track Show Me Love which was actually the work of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robin_S.
- They were two different songs, same title and similar artist names meant that the two songs often got confused. But they were different songs. Robyn's Show Me Love wasn't a club song either, it was geared more towards the pop charts. The page Show Me Love states this also :) Princesskirsty (talk) 22:54, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

NPOV
Why is NPOV disputed in this article? Leopold Stotch (talk) 05:29, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
- I dont know since I havent read the entire article, but the first sentence of it currently contains "is widely known in her homeland" which probably sets the tone of the rest of the article. I think this is a case of WP:PEACOCK, but I am not the one who have disputed the article so I dont know. Article has previously been tagged for both WP:CLEANUP (here) ({{Cleanup-rewrite}}, see discussion above) and WP:AWW (here) but these were removed by someone (here) while at the same time replacing a free image with a non-free / fair use image of Robyn (album). I doubt that was an attempt to fix the possible problems, but it lead to the addition of the POV tag (here and here). --Bamsefar75 (talk) 12:57, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
Backstreet Boys
Just thought you may want to know. Robyn was just on GMTV being interviewed by Andrew Castle. He mentioned about her working with Britney Spears and Backstreet Boys. She said she's never worked with the Backstreet Boys and said he'd been using Wikipedia for his research and that you shouldn't trust it. He admitted it and that his research wasn't very good.
Does anyone want to remove this as this came directly from her and has no references either? I thought it was quite funny that a 'respected' presenter just goes to Wikipedia for his research! I love it, but you do have to be careful! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.139.159.224 (talk) 07:53, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
Robyn comments her own article
I'm not sure exactly what is inaccurate, but see for yourself: [1] Watch from 12:38 on. Perhaps it's just the radio moderator who misquoted Wikipedia. --85.0.218.139 (talk) 22:50, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
Living in squalor?
Describing her living conditions as "squalid" seems a bit much. Her apartment is light and airy with high ceilings and sparse furnishings. Typical Swedish aesthetics. Not squalid at all. I suppose the apartment is of modest dimensions compared to the ostentatious residences of US celebrities. The Daily Show footage also shows she does lots of recycling, which was very touching I thought. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.168.52.51 (talk) 05:58, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
- Also, The Daily Show is news satire. I have just watched Robyn's apperance, which gave me some great laughs. What I find really notable, is how internationally successful Robyn is: A TV show tries to paint a (satirical) picture of the country, and selects components like IKEA, ABBA, government, politics, culture, and ... Robyn - age 29. --Bamsefar75 (talk) 13:20, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
Nominaton at Brit Award 2011
--91.154.109.218 (talk) 13:16, 14 January 2011 (UTC) Robyn has been nominated for International Female at the 2011 Brit Awards, it has been confirmed by Brit Awards website. Should we include in the awards list were the grsmy awards been listed.
Swedish Grammys 2011 (1/17/11)
I think Robyn's wins at this year's Swedish Grammis awards show should be put on this page, preferably at the bottom with the other awards. She won Best Female Artist, Best Composer (with Klas Ahlund), Best Album and Best Song for 'Dancing On My Own'. In the past, Robyn has also won Swedish Grammys, and that was mentioned in the top part of the Wikipedia article.Reichess (talk) 21:45, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
Ice rink project completed by two young girls, Sunderland
The Sunderland City Council will view an ice rink project on the 26th of January completed by two young girls. Counciller Kevin O'Conner has informed the council of this, it's a great idea. A letter from Paul Dobson was sent to Kevin O'Conner to get in contact with Sue Bell, Group manager. He has organized a tea, photographers and everything to take place for their idea. The parents of Robyn & Hayley are very proud of how they have put together their idea. Robyn Graham-Wilkinson and Hayley Amelia Smith attend different comprehensive schools, and are different ages. They have made everything you could need for a buisness plan. Also as Kevin discussed with Judith Hay, Head of Positive Contribution and Economic Wellbeing, should the girls wish to get involved with Sunderland's Youth Parliament. The girls and parents are exited to see the result of the meeting. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.19.135.31 (talk) 19:34, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: no consensus in favor of moving the pages at this time, per the discussion below; the discussion shows continued substantial support for the idea that the singer is the primary topic for the specific search term "Robyn". Dekimasuよ! 00:33, 12 November 2014 (UTC)
– Sorry, but not more notable than all other uses of "Robyn" in human history combined, which is what WP:PRIMARYTOPIC requires. At least not outside Sweden. In ictu oculi (talk) 02:42, 5 November 2014 (UTC)

- Oppose. There is no other mononymenous Robyn on the disambiguation page to disambiguate this one from. Confabulationist (talk) 08:37, 8 November 2014 (UTC)
- Oppose. There's only one artist/notable person with exactly this name (Robyn). The other Robyns from the disambiguation page are known by their whole name. Deepblue1 (talk) 11:02, 8 November 2014 (UTC)
- Plus the fact that her page has much higher number of visits than all other Robyns pages. She's the most notable Robyn by far (if you don't include Rihanna Robyn Fenty in the list). Deepblue1 (talk) 11:11, 8 November 2014 (UTC)
- Support: She doesn't have much greater long-term notability than all the other uses of "Robyn" combined. Merely being the most popular mononymous individual person in the last few months is not enough. —BarrelProof (talk) 01:20, 9 November 2014 (UTC)

- Robyn (name), for one. —BarrelProof (talk) 04:18, 10 November 2014 (UTC)
- That's a redirect, not an article about "Robyn". And even the article is redirects to is of far less encyclopedic note than the article on the singer. — AjaxSmack 02:43, 11 November 2014 (UTC)
- Being a redirect doesn't make something any less notable than if it's not a redirect. Neither does being poorly written, for that matter. –—BarrelProof (talk) 15:48, 11 November 2014 (UTC)

- Oppose. There are no other entities on the disambiguation page called "Robyn". Robyn (name) is a redirect and the rest are partial title matches. — AjaxSmack 01:42, 9 November 2014 (UTC)
- Being a redirect doesn't make something non-notable. For example, Hurricane is a redirect, and hurricanes are notable. —BarrelProof (talk) 04:18, 10 November 2014 (UTC)
- No, being a redirect doesn't make it non-notable. But the fact that the article's principle reference is to a baby name book suggests that the topic is only marginally encyclopedic. The article was created to move partial title matches off the disambiguation page, so it represents overrun. Confabulationist (talk) 13:53, 10 November 2014 (UTC)

- Qualified support. I agree with the sentiment behind the move, but I think disambiguating with her last name would be better. Firstly, it's a natural disambiguation per WP:NATURALDIS. Secondly, it won't cause confusion with Robin (singer), which I would also support moving. Third, there's precedent for it. Fellow Swedish singer Agnes is at Agnes Carlsson, and the considerably more famous Brandy is at Brandy Norwood. Egsan Bacon (talk) 02:59, 10 November 2014 (UTC)
- According to the opening, "Robyn" is her stage name and her real name is "Robin Carlsson." If you stick her stage name and family name together, you are creating a hybrid. Confabulationist (talk) 05:20, 10 November 2014 (UTC)
- Oppose - she is the most well-known Robyn. Unreal7 (talk) 21:56, 10 November 2014 (UTC)

Note that User:Confabulationist in the above is a sock of a community-banned user, which leaves 5-3 in support of Robyn (singer) not being more notable than all other topics combined. In ictu oculi (talk) 01:48, 17 December 2014 (UTC)
I was surprised to see that List of songs recorded by Robyn did not exist. I redirected the page to here for now, but feel free to get a list started before me if you have time and interest. ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:55, 26 July 2015 (UTC)
