Merge proposal, September 2016
[edit]I propose that Robust decision be merged into Robust decision-making.
Robust decision is a mere two paragraphs and has remained essentially unchanged since it was created by User:Davidullman in April 2007. David Ullman founded a company called Robust Decisions, Inc. and authored the book Making Robust Decisions (the only source cited in the Robust decision article), so there may be some WP:COI and/or WP:POV issues with the Robust decision article as it currently stands.
Robust decision-making is the more recently created article, created by User:Rlempert in January 2010. Robert Lempert is a coauthor on most of the sources cited in the Robust decision-making article, so there may be some WP:COI and/or WP:POV issues with this article also.
A counterargument against the merger might be that Ullman and Lempert have two distinct approaches to robust decision-making, but in response I would argue that such differences are better clarified within a single article, which would present a more neutral point of view, one of Wikipedia's core content policies. Keeping them separate amounts to a POV fork, a type of content fork, which is undesirable. Biogeographist (talk) 17:59, 8 September 2016 (UTC)
Merger complete. This article seems heavily slanted toward the RAND Corporation approach, probably due to principal authorship (most text added) by User:Rlempert, who is presumably Robert J. Lempert of the RAND Corporation, so it would be nice to see other experts on robust decision-making contribute to the article in the future. Biogeographist (talk) 04:23, 26 December 2016 (UTC)
