Notability

[edit]

I'm kind of see this person as a borderline case in terms of notability. He's not got huge amounts written about him in the popular press; however, he is a historian with a solid published record, with respectable books which may be interesting to some people. I added "references" (not ideal references but better than nothing) which reflect that he is a historian, an expert on a particular field of history (Spanish Civil War), a retired professor. But is he a hot topic? No, he's not The Maccabeats. Still, my thinking is if some student wants to learn about the Spanish Civil War, perhaps, then they may be interested in learning about Whealey or his books; so, I'm leaning to keeping this article in. I bet a more rigorous search will turn up more material on him, but I'm frankly not that interested (sorry). The article's tone is not overly promotional which is good. So, well, I'm like a weak keep, but I'm leaving this up to others.--Tomwsulcer (talk) 14:36, 6 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
