Notability
[edit]Hey there @Trainsskyscrapers, thanks for quickly dropping by and for appropriately tagging. May I ask under which criteria of the GNG do you think this article does not apply?
I'd also like to point out that the subject of this article does meet WP:TEACHER because
the person has received a highly prestigious academic award or honor at a national or international level
, so I have removed that tag. Cocobb8 (💬 talk • ✏️ contribs) 15:15, 6 March 2024 (UTC)
- Hello. This might be entirely subjective, but when I see a page on a (Canadian) educator, I expect to see robust coverage about their research, upbringing, and applications of their teachings in coast-to-coast media/academia publications like CBC, Globe & Mail, Macleans, The Atlantic, or assorted peer-reviewed journals. While the award is extremely prestigious, the coverage noted on the page at this time is limited to government & crown corporation websites as well as Carleton University, the school in which Mr. Tang holds a partnership with.
- The tag can definitely be removed, but I placed it there hoping to see additional coverage that would prove cross-country relevance in addition to the regional/topic-based attention a prestigious award would bring, if that makes sense: A cross-over into public consciousness. - Thanks for the reply. To me, it seems like GNG only mentions published and secondary sources independent of the subject, not that they should be coast-to-coast media, if that makes sense (even if not many sources I have are listed on the list of perennial sources, they are still quite reliable as they come from renowned universities, crown websites and museum websites). How about we leave the tag for now, and maybe another reviewer will decide something else? Cocobb8 (💬 talk • ✏️ contribs) 17:07, 6 March 2024 (UTC)
