Oldest park

[edit]

Oldest? Wasn't Jones Beach State Park made earlier? Jim.henderson (talk) 01:08, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it was. ----DanTD (talk) 21:48, 23 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, under it's original name, Fire Island State Park, it was officially opened in 1908. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.45.149.36 (talk) 02:03, 1 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The paragraph reading

Additional information about the clothing-optional beach known as Lighthouse Beach to the east of Robert Moses Field 5 is available at:...

seems redundant. I am removing it again. There is a link to the site in External Links and the new Lighthouse Beach article has more than full information. IMHO, this page should concentrate on RMSP.--Arg342 (talk) 08:09, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've consolidated the nude beach discussion to be just a portion of a paragraph about accessing FINS from RMSP, which is an important role this park plays, it seems. Agree that the topic had far too much coverage here previously (including the unnecessary external link, which I removed), and in several other articles as well. Non-citation

[edit]

The supposed citation for the old ferry and the date of renaming doesn't look to me like it says anything about this at all. Jmabel | Talk 14:42, 11 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
