Birth Data
[edit]Does anyone know where and on which date Captain Robert Moresby was born?Mohonu 06:45, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
Mohonu, I have a family tree which shows the birth of Capt Robert Moresby on 15 Jun 1794 and his death at 15 Jun 1854 - apparently 60 years old to the day. I do not have certified evidence of these dates. Robert had 6 brothers and 3 sisters. His oldest brother was Sir Fairfax Moresby, Admiral of the British Fleet, and Commander in Chief, Channel Squadron and Pacific Station. (Fairfax's son -Commander R.N. and Admiral R. N.- named Port Moresby, New Guinea, after his father.) His second oldest brother was Lieutenant - British Royal Navy.
I have other family history if you are interested.
Unfortunately I do not have the place of birth for Robert. His brother Sir Fairfax was born in Calcutta, India. 31mozz35 13:12, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
