Gee...
[edit]Name-check all these really big name musicians, but fail to mention that he was David Grisman's bass player for just years upon years upon years?
Pretty typical, unfortunately. RadioKAOS (talk) 11:10, 10 October 2010 (UTC)
- Grisman is a highly accomplished man, but you have to admit Lou Reed and Brian Wilson are more in the "household name" category.
- BTW, I love Radio K.A.O.S.

- This has since been corrected to some extent. However, the problem I originally mentioned is one of many instances which give the appearance that the Wikipedia community cannot distinguish actual notability from mere celebrity. I find it weird that most music articles I read contain excessive mentions/links of bigger-name musicians or bands, even if the actual interaction amounted to "long enough for a cup of coffee," to the point where lesser articles become coatrack articles in the process. I'm pretty certain this practice would be highly frowned upon in other types of articles.
- My initial familiarity with Wasserman was due to Duos and Trios. Being a public radio volunteer gives one a great opportunity to learn more about music, expanding horizons and what not. I felt that Wasserman's time with Grisman represented a rather important aspect of his career. At the time I wrote the above, I was having a hard time believing that it wasn't even mentioned. I would think the period where they played with Hal Blaine would be notable, if only for Blaine's stature and how bizarre it may have seemed on paper. At present, this is not mentioned either here or in Blaine's article, the latter also containing excessive mentions/links of other artists.
- I have been using this nickname on the Internet since 1990 (or before "Al Gore invented the Internet," but let's not get into that). Even though the album was still rather fresh at the time, most folks back then assumed it actually referred to KAOS (FM).RadioKAOS (talk) 02:44, 10 April 2012 (UTC)
