Mardi Gras 2017
[edit]Awaiting confirmation; Perpetrator Neilson Rizzuto, 25 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:1970:59A0:D00:549D:C02F:6398:280E (talk) 22:10, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
New leadership
[edit]If Rizzuto died and the last underboss is either dead or retired, is the family now defunct or is it still active? Battlesnake1 (talk) 03:44, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
- It is still active. Who is running the family is still unknown. --Ted87 (talk) 05:52, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
Orphaned references in Rizzuto crime family
[edit]I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Rizzuto crime family's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
Reference named "circus":
- From Gambino crime family: Cohen, Stefanie, It's a Mob Family Circus Turncoats, Turf Wars & Jailed Dons Turn Today's Mafia into Bada-Bozos", New York Post, March 8, 2009.
- From Bonanno crime family: http://www.nypost.com/seven/03082009/news/regionalnews/its_a_mob_family_circus_158597.htm
I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT⚡ 04:23, 25 March 2010 (UTC)
Current leadership
[edit]Who is running the family after Rizzuto son was killed? Who is the underboss? Who is the consigliere?

Should we add this?
[edit]Rizzuto's death also led to a power vacuum in Hamilton, Ontario. I'm not sure the article does a good job in discussing the ramifications of that.
CBC News said that the 2013 death of Montreal mob boss Vito Rizzuto had "left the Musitanos to fend for themselves".Bobby Hristova (July 10, 2020). "Notorious Hamilton mobster Pat Musitano gunned down in Burlington, Ont.: police". CBC News.
This is from a 2017 article by Peter Edwards:
"Everybody wants to be the next boss now that Rizzuto is gone," said Paul Manning, a former undercover officer in Hamilton. "There's a lot of infighting over who will be the next boss." ... The leadership vacuum has attracted tech-savvy newcomers from Ontario and Quebec who are eager to challenge the old guard. It has also triggered vicious infighting inside what's left of the old Rizzuto organization in Ontario. ... That infighting may explain the murder of Angelo (Ang) Musitano .... Illegal gambling has been particularly contentious over the past few years since Rizzuto's death and the 2013 dismantling of Platinum Sports Book, an illegal internet-based gambling network. https://www.thespec.com/news/crime/2017/07/31/the-bloody-fight-to-be-the-next-boss-after-mobster-vito-rizzuto-s-death.html
- An addition that also describes how the Musitanos and Vito were allies and then how his death "left the Musitanos to fend for themselves" could be fine. I suppose the ramifications were their ultimate deaths. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 14:49, 11 July 2020 (UTC)

A new killing related to the Family
[edit]A Brampton man has been arrested in the shooting death of a Montreal woman linked to the Mafia. Joel Richard Clarke, 28, was arrested Tuesday night in Milton on a charge of first-degree murder for the May 16 shooting of businesswoman Claudia Iacono. Her murder comes amidst several violent attacks in the Montreal underworld this year involving members of the old Rizzuto crime family. Iacono was the daughter-in-law of reported Mafia boss Moreno Gallo, who was assassinated in an Acapulco restaurant in Mexico in 2013. https://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2023/06/07/brampton-man-faces-murder-charge-in-death-of-daughter-in-law-of-late-montreal-mob-boss.html Peter K Burian (talk) 22:24, 8 June 2023 (UTC)
