Origin of band name
[edit]This article says 'The name "Ringworm" was derived from a Vincent Price movie.' with the source reference to http://loudside.com/ringworm/. This referenced page has no explanation of which movie this was and what the connection was between a misleadingly named fungal skin infection and any horror movie, or between that movie and the band they were choosing the name for. Wider web searches on this point reveal several pages about the band that all quote the same sentence verbatim but there is no explanation anywhere. These include
- http://newnoisemagazine.com/ringworm-cures-halloween-hangover/ Ringworm Cures Your Halloween Hangover which says its author is "Ringworm vocalist Human Furnace"
It is a great pity that this apparently explanatory remark in the introduction to the page about the band simply causes it to be added to a collection of pages that make the claim without telling whatever the story was that explains this claim. If you know anybody in this band, ask them! Mind you, I recognize that such a source would put the answer obtained in original research and ineligible for use in Wikipedia. Damn. How to we go about clarifying in cases like this?! Iph (talk) 18:27, 21 March 2015 (UTC)
