It is mentioned in the article that she contested a Parliamentary seat twice, yet I can only find one instance of her having done so: Chelsea in the 1992 general election. Dovea (talk) 18:05, 26 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Rima's Ancestry

[edit]

I think it should definitely be mentioned that Rima's mother was Welsh and her father English, why their birth places were initially included. The information was removed for being "too excessively detailed," yet the very same thing is mentioned on her late husband, Alan Rickman's page. In my honest opinion, there is not enough information on here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.0.226.234 (talk) 22:34, 7 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

76.0.226.234, I don't disagree that their ancestry can be added, but the detail was entirely excessive per WP:GNG. (If Rickman's article is similarly too detailed, that should be addressed on that article. Meantime, "not enough information" is not a valid argument to throw in the unencyclopedic. See WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS and WP:NOT.) I'll take a look to see what makes sense to put back, but full dates of birth and residence addresses, for instance, certainly do not. —ATS 🖖 Talk 23:22, 7 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I understand. Fair enough. May we please at least keep her parents' ancestry and their birth and death years, not residences and such, mind? Same with Rickman's? 76.0.226.234 (talk) 00:38, 8 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Ancestry's already restored; meantime, date ranges have been accepted following similar discussions. I'll re-add. —ATS 🖖 Talk 00:59, 8 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much for taking the time to resolve the issue. The article looks much better now. Can the same happen for Rickman's page? And may we also redirect Chelsea College of Arts to Chelsea College of Art and Design? That was what the university was named when she was in attendance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.0.226.234 (talk) 23:06, 8 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome, and thank you for the input! Meantime, last I looked, Rickman's page was thus fixed. Also, Wikilinks generally go to the existing article, rather than to a redirect, and piping the old name is unnecessary. —ATS 🖖 Talk 23:11, 8 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Awesome. Thanks! 76.0.226.234 (talk) 06:38, 12 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Siblings

[edit]

The fact that news outlets have reported Rima as the middle child of three children, an older sister and younger brother, is partially incorrect. Her mother, Elsie had, in fact, four children: two older children; Rima; and then Rima's younger brother. [England & Wales, Death Index, 1916-2007. General Register Office. England and Wales Civil Registration Indexes. London, England: General Register Office. Vol. 12. p. 1804. Changed to third of four. The half-brother pushes GNG beyond my comfort. —ATS 🖖 Talk 20:56, 12 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. Thank you for taking it into consideration and correcting it. And of course. I understand. I wasn't sure if that should be mentioned here or not, which is why I took it to the talk page first. That makes sense. At least the information is brought to light in some way, though. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.0.226.234 (talk) 01:42, 13 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Good stuff, and thank you for your efforts. If I may remind you, "sign" your edits to talk pages by using four tildes ~~~~ so the bot doesn't have to keep doing it for you. ATS 🖖 Talk 02:03, 13 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Profession ?

[edit]

Being a local councillor is not a profession in the UK, the position is nominally unpaid. Even more so before 2000. Pincrete (talk) 17:19, 4 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
