Duration?
[edit]Cound someone add the duration of the opera to the article? Thanks. -- megA (talk) 16:40, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
- We don't usually include running times (which can vary enormously) in opera articles. Viva-Verdi (talk) 01:31, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
- Fair enough. I was just wondering if "short" means 15 or 60 minutes... -- megA (talk) 15:21, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
- Many 20th century scores include an "expected duration". This would at least assist in answering questions such as yours, Meg. I wonder if these notations typically from the editor (publisher), or the composer? If the latter then this is particularly interesting information, giving some indication of a 'canonical' running time, and hence tempi. Interested in your views, Viva; perhaps such information, where available, and with suitable qualifications, could sensibly be added to opera articles.<p\>For what it's worth, this recording of Riders to the Sea has a running time of approximately 42 minutes.--Simon the Likable (talk) 20:16, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
