Bias
[edit]Wikipedia should be a source of information.
When considering a political figure I want to know who he is and what he stands for - To find every example of a political figure's opinion and principles immediately followed by an attempt to portray him as a hypocrite or to portray that belief as extreme, evil or insincere is an attempt to bias the article - Wikipedia is full of this and it really needs to stop.
If there is to be a scandals/allegations/controversy section put it at the bottom and there should be an attempt to portray both sides of the story. Putting "the Guardian reports that Saccone is inflating his Resume over Korea" and then "Saccone is a hypocrite - He claims to be a tea partier and now he's hosing the taxpayer over accessory items (flags, etc.) while serving as a state rep." - presenting these accusations in the overview skews the tone of the article, presenting these accusations without rebuttal is an attempt to bias the article.
Is it not obvious that stating that Saccone leased out office space to a donor of his for $100,000 is implying corruption? That implication needs to be either guarded or reinforced by facts or else Wikipedia simply becomes a battlefield for propaganda and misinformation.
Responding to allegations of bias above.
[edit]Saccone can be described as far-right for his actions related to the January 6 United States Capitol attack. Merely having hardline right-wing political positions (i.e. James Lankford) or engaging in corrupt actions (i.e. George Santos) does not usually merit a politician being described as far-right. To be considered far-right, a politician with right-leaning views also usually engages in actions that are authoritarian (Ioannis Metaxas), advocates for white supremacy or ethnic cleansing (i.e. Nazism), or has has that far to the right of mainstream conservative parties in their country (i.e. Alternative for Germany).JohnAdams1800 (talk) 21:02, 25 February 2024 (UTC)
