[edit]Hello! This is a note to let the editors of this article know that File:Richea Scoparia-2.jpg will be appearing as picture of the day on August 19, 2012. You can view and edit the POTD blurb at Template:POTD/2012-08-19. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page so Wikipedia doesn't look bad. :) Thanks! —howcheng {chat} 18:56, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
Richea scoparia is a species of flowering plant endemic to Tasmania, Australia. It is a compact, often rounded shrub branching mostly from the base and which can grow to 2 metres (6.6 ft) high. The plant is spiny to touch and can make impenetrable thickets where it is common. Branches are clothed with stiff, curved, sharp pointed, awl shaped leaves, and the flowers are eaten by wallabies.Photo: JJ Harrison
