Contested deletion
[edit]This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because R H Penton was in his time a most distinguished painter in oils and watercolours. Relatively little is known about him but he was a founder member of the distinguished, and still existing, Wapping Group of Artists and his paintings have great merit. As a new user of Wiki - I find it very difficult to negotiate and have not found out yet how to include images of his paintings - that would convince you better than words!... Contested deletion
[edit]This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because it does make such an assertion, it's just a bit 'buried'. The article also has a book, ref though not wikified. --Shawn in Montreal (talk) 03:46, 15 September 2013 (UTC)
- It's not threatened with speedy deletion at present, but it depends on one book source. If he is genuinely notable, it should be possible to find other sources to confirm what we read (I've removed opinions) Jimfbleak - talk to me? 09:05, 15 September 2013 (UTC)
- @Tynefield. It's likely that his paintings are still in copyright, and cannot be used on Wikipedia Jimfbleak - talk to me? 09:07, 15 September 2013 (UTC)
- The photograph of his work that has been added is such low quality I don't think it warrants being there. Theroadislong (talk) 09:35, 16 September 2013 (UTC)
