Yellow Journalism
[edit]Not to step on any toes, but according to Bill Blackbeard (RIP) in the long introduction to the great Kitchen Sink _Yellow Kid_ collection, "The Great Yellow Kid Newspaper War is supposed to have led to the creation of the term 'yellow journalism' ... In fact, the phrase was first used in response to a national bicycle marathon..." So I took out the sentence that said the Yellow Kid was the origin of the phrase. I'm assuming Blackbeard knew what he was talking about. Maybe someone has a more vibrant way to reference the Kid and still be accurate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.124.151.244 (talk) 21:32, 1 May 2012 (UTC)
Pronunciation of Outcault
[edit]It would be useful to insert the pronunciation of "Outcault" as this is an unusual surname. The book "Comics before 1945" states that he was of German origin and the family surname was something like Altenkalt (my faulty recollection for spelling of the surname).
