– There's no WP:PRIMARYTOPIC by pageviews or long-term significance, so DAB should be at base name. In fact, Rialto, California gets more page views. Page view stats here: [here]. Ortizesp (talk) 21:49, 2 June 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose. Everything on this page [except a village in Liguria] is named after the Rialto and it has not sunk into obscurity relative any of its namesakes, so I think the long-term significance criterion does apply. Srnec (talk) 00:42, 3 June 2022 (UTC) [Edited 23:39, 3 June 2022 (UTC)]
- Support Rialto, Liguria doesn't seem to be named after this one and itwiki has a DAB here. Crouch, Swale (talk) 07:27, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
- Support per nom. Showiecz (talk) 02:37, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose Far and away the primary topic, of very high historical importance. As far as pageviews, that merely reflects that many people live in that part of California, not that it has any importance outside of it. Walrasiad (talk) 06:39, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
- All of the Rialto's are of historical significance, the one in Venice isn't far and away further than all of the others combined.--Ortizesp (talk) 05:49, 6 June 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose. Rialto in Venice is still the primary topic. Page views don't decide everything. JIP | Talk 22:26, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose. Clear primary topic by long-term significance. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:08, 8 June 2022 (UTC)
Rivoaltus, or "high bank".
[edit]The text says: "The area was settled by the ninth century, when a small area in the middle of the Realtine Islands on either side of the Rio Businiacus was known as the Rivoaltus, or 'high bank'." This seems wrong. The Italian Wikipedia gives its meaning as "deep channel" ("L'origine del nome si trova nel latino rivus praealtus, poi rivus altus, col significato di 'canale molto profondo"). Shouldn't it be changed? METRANGOLO1 (talk) 16:44, 4 November 2024 (UTC)
