Questions

[edit]

Two references from ya'll about the age of the universe and or earth are somewhat confusing. Your article on earth states that the earth is about 4.54 billion of years old whereas your article on the universe indicates that the universe is about 13.73 years old.

This, I believe, indicates that the universe was around for 9 +- billions of years before earth was formed. I have not seen anything that speaks to this. If this is commonly accepted then the question that has to be asked and answered (if even possible) is WHY.

I would appreciate some guidance as to whether the earth is in the 4-5 billion years old frame or if it is actually older, closer to the 15 billion year concept. I have no dificulty accepting earth being older than what many biblical scholars have stated. I have found it rather difficult to accept a biblical day as we know a day - 24 hours long. I do not believe that those who were involved in putting the Bible together had any idea that history could have taken longer than six -- 24 hour days. They knew that a day was 24 hours - and thus that was how long to accomplish some of the earth's creation.

Your reply will be appreciated. Shalom Bob Wardrop, 6034 E. Rush St., Inverness, FL 34452

"Did you know?" Section

[edit]

Though this section is technically about the Reference Interview, the information contained within seems to have been chosen randomly. They do not fit within the narrative of the article, or the section itself, really. I propose to remove the section, and anyone who would like to incorporate the information in it into the text will be welcome to do so by pulling the text from the previous version of the article.
