Pre-GA tweaks

[edit]

Hi Peacemaker67, Thanks for another fine article. Here are some possible tweaks to consider before the GA review starts:

  • knighted for commissioner - appears twice in lede (1st para and 2nd last sentence)
  • consistencies:
    shell fire v shellfire
    counterattack v counter-attack /one word x 8, hyphenated x3
Pioneer Trench v Pioneers Trench, 2 each
Croix de guerre v Croix de Guerre
Citizens' Forces v Citizen's Forces (actually, there are no apostrophes in its (AAR's) article)
    Times formats 4:30 am/4:00am/07:00/08:00/10:30/12:15/13:30/15:30/5:15/02:00/15:00/23:00
  • "Fighting Leane's of Prospect" - is the apostrophe in the Hurst ref?
  • Categories to add?:
Recipients of the Croix de guerre 1914–1918 (France)
    Australian police chiefs
    Burials in South Australia
  • Categories to refine?:
Australian Companions of the Order of St Michael and St George
Australian Companions of the Order of the Bath‎
    Australian Knights Bachelor
Australian recipients of the Military Cross
Australian Companions of the Distinguished Service Order

Please ignore any that I have wrong:) Thanks again, JennyOz (talk) 08:30, 20 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks very much for taking a look, JennyOz! I've adjusted them all. With Citizens' Forces, I've used the apostrophe positioning used by papers of the time. Bit of a bug bear of mine, so not sure how that slipped through. Some crusty half-colonel once insisted we properly punctuate Officers' Mess as the possessive, ie the Mess belonging to the Officers... And now I'm stuck with it. Cheers, Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 10:10, 20 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Looking good! (I agree with your half-colonel too.) One time format yet to fix... "surged forward at 5:15" should be 17:15? Thanks again, JennyOz (talk) 15:43, 20 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
