Arabic translation
[edit]I removed an Arabic translation that made no sense. I can give an alternative translation, but I chose not to because there must be an original Arabic term. --79.67.35.216 (talk) 00:16, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- Article writer User:Mohammad Ali seems to insist that (متحرك طليعة) or (Mutaharik taliha) is indeed the original Arabic term and was not translated literally from English and so reversed several edits removing it, the only source I can find for this term is non-Arabic, Annals of the Early Caliphate By William Muir, but I found no Arabic text mentioning it. Thus combined with the fact that the word doesn't even make sense in Arabic grammar (The adjective is before the noun, which is the case in English not Arabic where it's the other way around) and since it appears exactly as a literal English translation would look, I confidently say that the term is not a genuine Arabic term.
- I'm removing it again, I'll also be looking up the proper Arabic term --XWing-ZEROx (talk) 11:37, 23 June 2010 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: moved as requested. I have not altered the resultant redirect, but please consider whether a disambiguation page would be advisable there (including Mobile security, etc.). Changing the redirect directly would require also altering the 23 current links to Mobile guard. Dekimasuよ! 18:21, 19 July 2018 (UTC)
Mobile guard → Rashidun cavalry – The WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for "Mobile guard" appears to be smartphone protection plans, based on Google search. It certainly isn't an army from the 7th century AD. Rashidun cavalry seems like a viable descriptive name. power~enwiki (π, ν) 21:07, 12 July 2018 (UTC)
- Support. The current name is highly ambiguous (in the general "human understanding" sense); fails WP:PRECISE. — SMcCandlish ☏ ¢ 😼 00:12, 13 July 2018 (UTC)
