Talk:Rapidgrass
This article has not yet been rated on Wikipedia's content assessment scale. |
This article was tagged for speedy deletion under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion but a reviewing administrator or uninvolved experienced editor (DESiegel (talk)) declined the request on the basis that: "voted as one of the top 5 albums by the Mountain Arts Culture Colorado" and "embarked on a world tour" are claims of significance and there are others here. This article should not be tagged again for speedy deletion under the same criterion and, unless a valid, separate speedy deletion basis exists, further attempts at deleting this article should be made via the proposed deletion process (prod) if uncontroversial, or the article taken to articles for deletion (AfD) for debate on the merits. Note: this template should be removed once the associated article has survived an AfD debate; or has been significantly changed such that further speedy deletion requests are unlikely. |
Contested deletion
[edit]This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because last time that I submitted an article it was "too promotional". Rapidgrass has won multiple important National awards and is widely held as one of the best bluegrass bands in the country. Would it be better if I wrote a cited section with all of their awards? I just didn't want to have this article flagged for being too promotional again when that is not my end game here. I am just a huge fan of the band. Also, look at the citation references, those alone should signify the importance of the band. Hhuffake (talk) 21:24, 10 April 2018 (UTC)
- @Hhuffake: It's unclear if this group meets the notability criteria for musicians and ensembles. The depth of coverage seems pretty light... maybe the reviewing admin will disagree. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 22:19, 10 April 2018 (UTC)
- @Drm310: Thank you for sending over the notability criteria.
The notability criteria points out that one criteria might be winning a major competition - I made some minor updates to show the importance of the Rockygrass Band competition (referencing previous winners such as bluegrass juggernauts Mark O'Connor and the Steep Canyon rangers which are Steve Martin's band).
Additionally, the notability criteria mentions being produced by a major label. This article specifically mentions that it was produced by a member of Railroad Earth (who happen to be one of the most popular bluegrass bands in the world). Hhuffake (talk) 23:19, 10 April 2018 (UTC)
