Was the wood really used to transport the moai?
[edit]Currently, in the article there stands
> The wood of the now extinct Jubaea palm was used to make devices for transporting the huge stone moai statues.
This is an older theory, which also has some problems. Currently, there are theories that the moai were transorted upright by rocking them from side to side with ropes and thus "walking" them, which also explains the pattern how the moai on the transport road are lying.
