Coordinates are okay, according to USGS NIS page at http://geonames.usgs.gov/pls/gnispublic/f?p=gnispq:3:1372533733091699::NO::P3_FID:234517. BrainMarble (talk) 17:09, 9 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If that photo is the owner and he died in 1828

[edit]

it could not be him. Photography was in its infancy in 1828 and the man looks in the middle of life, not the end. 50.230.251.244 (talk) 01:31, 18 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Good catch, I tried to edit the image out. I am new to Wikipedia so please let me know if there is any issue with the image deletion or if I have broken convention in some way. Thanks! 2600:1700:77F0:53E0:0:0:0:B (talk) 02:15, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Etymology - Unsourced Lamchin Village Claim

[edit]

"The literal translation is "Ranch of the Fleas", probably named after a village of the local Lamchin people," this is a claim which I have seen made by several related Wikipedia pages, none of which link to any sort of source. Other websites which use this claim seem to cite Wikipedia. This may be misinformation. 2600:1700:77F0:53E0:0:0:0:B (talk) 02:13, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I am certain based on this that it was named after the abundance of fleas there. I have edited the article accordingly. If you can link to the related articles that need updating I'm happy to change those as well. Moultano (talk) 04:06, 25 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
