Real People

[edit]

"Rambo" is also the alias of Javier Elenes Ruiz, a major Mexican narcotrafficante and a kingpin of the Sinaloa Cartel, the supposed target in the 2008 Alejandro Medrano Case in which ATF botched tracing guns smuggled into Mexico for use by its drug cartels. Removal of non-exact matches to "Rambo"

[edit]

In this edit made by Mika1h, one of the terms removed was Rambo: First Blood Part II because the title wasn't an exact match to "Rambo".

I feel that this is taking an overly-literal and unhelpful interpretation of the disambiguation page guidelines. The film was very much promoted as "Rambo" with "First Blood Part II" in very much smaller writing below (see poster here). Whether that officially constitutes part of the original title or not- and whether or not that was later played up to distinguish it from the fourth film- it was often known as just "Rambo" at the time and the fact that this was clearly the main part of the title means (IMHO) it belongs here.

I've just re-added the third film as well. Should never have been removed. DropShadow (talk) 12:17, 6 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

From Wikipedia: According to author David Morrell, the apple provided the name for the hero of his novel, First Blood, which gave rise to the Rambo film franchise. The novelist's wife brought home a supply of the fruit as he was trying to come up with a suitable name for the protagonist.[5] It is uncertain whether David Morrell's wife brought home Rambos or Summer Rambos. Summer Rambos would have been much more common, but since his wife bought the apples at a roadside stand, either is possible.--153.92.150.214 (talk) 19:47, 3 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
