Prince
[edit]The German version tells us that the title of "Prince of the Holy Roman Empire" was conferred not on him, but on his son in 1698... Perhaps someone competent in the matter might care to check...--Terminallyuncool2 (talk) 09:09, 21 February 2020 (UTC)
- Sandonnini's and Veltze's published documents contain no trace of this award to Montecuccoli but do contain the document showing conferral upon his son, Leopold Philip. These documents show that Montecuccoli attempted to win the award Prince of the Empire and received support from some of the powerful rulers of the Holy Roman Empire, but Montecuccoli apparently did not actually receive conferral probably due to politics (he had many powerful enemies as was typical for major court/military figures).--Ennaken (talk) 18:24, 8 November 2021 (UTC)
Most famous quotation
[edit]Though I understand that quotations are to be concentrated in Wiki quotations, I am of opinion that in the case of the single most famous connected to a person it should be referred to in their biography in Wikipedia, viz here "the things necessary for war being three, to wit, money, money and money". Please consider... --Terminallyuncool2 (talk) 09:22, 21 February 2020 (UTC) As a general, Montecuccoli shared with Turenne and Condé the first place among European soldiers of his time. Is this a sick joke or what??
- Looking at the events of 1664, specifically the loss of Novi Zrin, Montecuccoli was not a bold general.
- He willingly let Novi Zrin fall because he was envious of the fame that a truly bold general, Nikola VII Zrinski, was getting. 104.158.53.149 (talk) 19:32, 18 May 2024 (UTC)
