@Shirik and GoingBatty: A long time ago, you have added/extended a notability template to this article (here and here, respectively). Now, Ribó is the Catalonia Ombudsman since 2004, which I just added to the article (with sources); which IMHO is enough to satisfy WP:NPOL. I got the (primary) source for his first election from his wikidata item, d:Q4893041, where it is possible to find primary sources for other in themselves sufficiently important offices, such as being an Catalonia Parliament MP almost the whole time 1980-1999, with a break for two years when he was an MP in the Spain Parliament (more precisely, he was a member of the Congress of Deputies 1993-1995); and being the General Secretary of the Unified Socialist Party of Catalonia 1986-1997. However, since my primary interest now is articles concerning ombudspersons and their offices, I'm not now planning to add this information to the article.
Thus, I think that the sourced ombudsman position in itself should be sufficient for establishing the notability; and I believe it undisputable that his other activities and offices (documented in the eswp and cawp sister articles, but not here) also suffice for notability (but then preferrably also should be added to the article). Therefore, I plan to remove the notability template soon (but leave the 'BLP sources' and 'stub' templates), unless one of you either protests, or fix it yourself, to your liking. @JoergenB: My goal in updating the {{notability}} tag many years ago was to make it easier for editors to find the specific notability requirements. I don't know anything about Catalonia politics, so I will not make a determination whether he meets WP:NPOL. There are a few articles that link to Rafael Ribó i Massó (see Special:WhatLinksHere/Rafael Ribó i Massó) or mention him without the wikilink - is he the same person? As you noted, information pertaining to whether he meets the notability criteria of the English Wikipedia should be on his article in the English Wikipedia. Happy editing! @GoingBatty: As you can see, the cawp sister article is named ca:Rafael Ribó i Massó, so yes, this indeed should be the same guy. The Rafael Ribó Massó in our article lead is the Spanish name form. (I suspect that there may be some difference between Spanish and Catalan forms of the same name, since I've seen that same "i" between the paternal and the maternal surname in other cawp articles.) I create redirs from both the full Spanish and the full Catalan name.
@JoergenB: Thanks for creating the redirects. Hopefully this will drive more editors to this article who wish to expand it. You have misinterpreted my answer. When I wrote "I will not make a determination whether he meets WP:NPOL", I meant that I am not going to take a position one way or another, because I am ignorant regarding Catalan politics.
