[edit]If Josephus invented the Essenes, how can they be mentioned also in Philo and in Pliny? Das Baz 18:18, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
He didn't invent the Essenes. The article is saying that her theory is wrong precisely because the Essenes were mentioned before Jospehus ever wrote about them. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.139.102.240 (talk) 00:37, 28 March 2010 (UTC)
Criticism?
[edit]How does this article immediately start with a section on criticisms of Elior's work, without first giving any kind of description or outline of her work? How can an article criticize her viewpoints, with out first presenting her viewpoints as she herself presents them? Isn't this some kind of violation of Wikipedia policy? Or at least, of scholarly objectivity?Jimhoward72 (talk) 10:04, 1 January 2011 (UTC)

External links modified
[edit]Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on Rachel Elior. Please take a moment to review my edit. You may add {{cbignore}}
after the link to keep me from modifying it, if I keep adding bad data, but formatting bugs should be reported instead. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}}
to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:
- Added archive http://web.archive.org/web/20090330175315/http://www.dailyprincetonian.com:80/2009/03/27/23174/ to http://www.dailyprincetonian.com/2009/03/27/23174/
When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true or failed to let others know (documentation at {{Sourcecheck}}
).
