Surtees as a source

At the moment, the article uses Surtees, Robert (1820). The History and Antiquities of the County Palatine of Durham: volume 2 –– Describes the 21 parishes and chapelries of Chester ward in the north of the county, including Gateshead, Jarrow and other parts of present-day urban Tyneside. London: Institute of Historical Research. p. 220. {{cite book}}: |access-date= requires |url= (help); Cite has empty unknown parameter: |coauthors= (help) as a source. It is available through http://www.british-history.ac.uk/report.aspx?compid=76308 British History Online]. Using ctrl+f I was unable to find "Raby" and "Nevill" occured just twice. This is concerning as it looks as if the referenced part of Surtees is irrelevant to this article. Nev1 (talk) 19:48, 18 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There's some material on p. 109 of a similar titled book by William Fordyce - here. But in either case I'd be treating it with real care, given the age of the source. Hchc2009 (talk) 21:28, 18 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'd agree - there's been enough more recent work on Raby that the article shouldn't be having to rely on 1820s scholarship... Hchc2009 (talk) 21:36, 18 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
