I believe that RIP protocol needs to be in top of the list after the acronym rest in peace. I think is more important that albums names and other things. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dhcpy (talk • contribs) 19:15, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
The english translation of Requiescat In Pace is accurate in context and has been the accepted translation for the lifetime of it's normal use in modern English. The 'often misinterpreted' portion is inaccurate as liturgical Latin is often modified during it's translation into the vernacular for clarity of meaning in context. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 118.90.96.168 (talk) 11:02, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
Combine with Rip
[edit]I'd like to combine this page with the Rip page. Any comments on that? --Nneuman (talk) 15:36, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
- Oppose RIP and rip are distinctly separate, with the former being an initialism and the latter a word. --Trevj (talk) 13:46, 19 July 2011 (UTC)

RIP → RIP (disambiguation) – Seems that the capitalized acronym RIP should redirect to Rest in peace as a WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT. Steel1943 (talk) 01:24, 21 December 2017 (UTC)
- Support per nom. Makes sense. Egsan Bacon (talk) 04:07, 21 December 2017 (UTC)
- Support, since there is an article Rest in peace then of course this well-known acronym should redirect to it. Common sense and common name would apply to make it the primary for the topic. Randy Kryn (talk) 11:42, 21 December 2017 (UTC)

- Support - Common sense really. –Davey2010 Merry Xmas / Happy New Year 17:33, 23 December 2017 (UTC)
- Support. This is a very rare case of a three-letter acronym having a primary topic. bd2412 T 14:18, 24 December 2017 (UTC)
- Support per WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT and WP:COMMONNAME. CookieMonster755✉ 17:29, 24 December 2017 (UTC)
