The comment about being shut down due to "poor management" seems like it may be a biased opinion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 137.142.184.177 (talk) 03:01, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This article seems like advertising to me. It should be removed or striped down to the core. 07:26, 11 February 2006 (UTC)07:26, 11 February 2006 (UTC)ColenFace 07:26, 11 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed the paragraph about the Singapore banning controversy since I could not find any reputable sources verifying it. Please do not reinstate it unless you can provide the requisite citations. — Dan | talk 22:35, 9 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the line "Nor has Putfile barred users of seven other countries that also carried out executions by hanging". Sounds whiny to me. Dodo bird 19:05, 25 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Singapore ban

[edit]
File:Putfileban.jpg

Veritifiable proof: Singaporeans cannot enter the website anymore. You will have to assess from a Singapore computer to see so.

Could you navigate to the site's root URL (http://www.putfile.com/) and take another screenshot? It would be nice to use to illustrate the article. — Dan | talk 02:03, 10 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Also, since you're in Singapore, can you verify that the "goodbye Singapore" message is only visible to Singaporeans? — Dan | talk 02:03, 10 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

First issue: Singaporeans who click on (http://www.putfile.com) will be redirected to the page in the screenshot above.

Second issue: The screenshot on the right is of the message for "Putfile says goodbye to Singapore".

Putfile says goodbye to Singapore

Darklord of the Sith Daniel Lim 11:44, 10 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

But now everyone in Singapore can access Putfile again... and the page (Goodbye to us) and the forum topic have been removed. Are they trying to do something funny now? xertnevnI 03:01, 1 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It is not the fault of the average people for what the gov't decides.... Thank god for proxies! RealG187 21:38, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notability

[edit]

Somebody added a notability template to the article, which I addressed in the article and then removed. jpez 03:25, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Putfilelogi.jpg

[edit]

Image:Putfilelogi.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:00, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Goodbye, Putfile! We had a lot of memories.

[edit]

I had a lot of good memories about Putfile. I uploaded my first videos there. Now they're gone. Does anybody know any other media sharing websites? RocketMaster (talk) 11:16, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure how to make a new paragraph...but I had videos there too...my first ones..and they are gone as well :( —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.35.131.192 (talk) 10:46, 8 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
