Name confusions
[edit]I've now copied over the only useful information from the former rather confused article titled "Psilophyta" and re-directed it here. I've chosen to use the longer alternative name for the class as the article title (i.e. "Psilophytopsida" rather than "Psilophyta"), but it shouldn't be confused with Psilotopsida, a different class. I've created a disambiguation page at Psilopsida (disambiguation) to which Psilopsida currently redirects. As I was writing the article the four class names (Psilophyta, Psilophytopsida, Psilopsida and Psilotopsida) confused me more than once, and seem confused in some of the literature. I hope the article structure I've set up will clarify, but comments are very welcome. Peter coxhead (talk) 11:58, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
Taxobox
[edit]I deliberately haven't included a taxobox, because for this obsolete class it would be misleading in modern terms. When established and used it was a class of division Pteridophyta (Engler system), but the meaning of this class now has significantly changed. Peter coxhead (talk) 09:33, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
