jьměti

[edit]

This verb is mentioned to be class V (athematic). Seems so, but is there a source to prove? I have found only ones proving there are 4 verbs in the class, with the 5th "jьměti" missing. VerbaGleb (talk) 10:42, 8 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Error in table

[edit]

Table AP a nouns, entry for jìlъ, has jìlъmъ as instrumental, while judging where it patterns with AP b and c, the form should be jìlъmь (cf. AP b võlъ/volъ̀mь, AP c sy̑nъ/sy̑nъmь). Jalwikip (talk) 19:02, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Did Proto-Slavic ever exist?

[edit]

Since there is no evidence at all that Proto-Slavic ever existed it is doubtful whether there were any Slavic languages before 500 AD. One theory by Omeljan Pritsak claims that the Slavic languages derived from Lithuanian mercenaries that were employed by the Awars after the collapse of the Roman Empire. This Balto-Slavic connection has been mentioned in the article. Pritsak´s theory - wildly rejected by Russian nationalists - should be paid attention to. --Ontologix (talk) 02:05, 12 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
