Irrelevant material
[edit]The article contains a table which is taken from what looks more or less like a classroom homework,[1] and not a scientific reference. It is also completely irrelevant here, since this article is about the reconstructed proto-language of Malayo-Polynesian. An inventory of languages as given in the table should appear in the article on Malayo-Polynesian languages, and should definitely be of appropriate quality. The table was removed twice by anonymous (but apparently sensible) users who even gave an explanation in the edit summary. The edit were however promptly reverted, obviously without any qualitative evaluation. For reasons given above, I will delete it again and hope editors will not simply reverse it without explaining why this table actually belongs here. Austronesier (talk) 11:01, 14 August 2018 (UTC)

Moved. See general agreement below to be CONSISTENT with the many other similar article titles in the category. Since the opposer does not "feel strongly about it", this article is renamed to include the "language" qualifier. Kudos to editors for your input, and Happy Publishing! Proto-Malayo-Polynesian → Proto-Malayo-Polynesian language – All proto-language articles on Wikipedia end with " language", but this one is not. — Stevey7788 (talk) 19:49, 6 December 2018 (UTC)--Relisting. Dekimasuよ! 20:36, 13 December 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose, but I don't feel strongly about it. None of these articles need "language" appended, as there is nothing to disambiguate them from. — AjaxSmack 02:42, 8 December 2018 (UTC)

What are the * for
[edit]- before words in liguistics usually refer to not used forms, should this be changed even thought the whole table should apparently be deleted?
